The Committee Representing Yangon Region Hluttaw (CRYH) have issued an open letter to the Yangon Diplomatic Corps to act to prevent the Junta from instituting what it describes as a ‘massacre’ in Insein Prison after a non-violent strike occurred early this morning.

The following is the letter in full:

‘Open letter to Diplomatic Corps in Yangon from CRYH

Dear Excellencies, Hope you all are in good health. Millions of thanks to support our effort on “In Defense Of Democracy”. May we kindly request you to prevent the slaughtering by the Military Gang of Terror who is nearly going to kill the detainees in Insein Prison in Yangon today. This morning around 8 A.M. in Insein Prison, detainees were going on non-violent strike to protest suppression by the military.

According to sources; (1) The outbreaking pandemic in prison makes a direct threat to their lives (2)Unequal giving of parole among detainees and prisoners (3)Bad health care in the prison These three facts are the root causes of the Jail Strike in Insein Prison today. Sadly, known from sources, Military Gang of Terror is planning to kill the inmates in the prison.

Please kindly save lives of the detainees with your diplomatic pressure.
