Defence forces attack Yangon Region’s Mingaladon Myoma Police Station

Defence forces detonated a remote-controlled mine and threw a grenade at Mingaladon Myoma Police Station in Yangon region’s Mingaladon Township, at about 8:00 p.m. on 7 December.

The defence forces involved in the attack were the Union of Myanmar Civil Defense (UMCD) and KMD-18.

According to a representative from the UMCD damaged the police inspector's office building inside the police station, and a person inside the police station was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital.

A UMCD leader said: “We launched an attack with a remote-controlled mine and a grenade. We request that the public stands with the Urban Guerillas. We put our lives on the line in order to complete our urban missions. It is difficult to carry out missions in a large city where the junta troops have heavy security.”

He said the attack as to celebrate the one year anniversary of the founding of the UMCD and KMD-18.

He also added that police officers from Mingaladon Myoma Police Station frequently extort money from the families of arrested revolutionaries.
