Defence forces kill and injure junta soldiers on Chaung U to Myinmu Road in Sagaing

Local defence forces used 17 landmines to attack two junta army cars that were patrolling the Chaung U to Myinmu Road in Sagaing Region.

The attack on 29 August happened at around 10:40 a.m. between the villages of Gwaypintaw and Boeminyi-kin villages in Myinmu Township. One of the junta cars was hit.

According to local defence forces, out of the five soldiers in the car that was hit two were killed and the other three were injured.

Ko Nway Oo, a commander in the Civilians Defense Security Organization Myaing (CDSOM), one off the group’s involved in the attack said: “Only the front car was hit and they were unable to continue moving for the next half an hour. We wanted to drop a bomb with drone on the second car but it took some time to go back to our camp and get the drone.”

The defence forces that carried out the attack were CDSOM Tumi Fighter, CDSOM Northern Defence Force 012 and 007, and Women's Warrior (Myaung).
