Democratic Party of National Politics emphasizes development of private sector, SMEs

Democratic Party of National Politics says it will focus on development of the private sector as well as small and medium enterprises, according to the party’s chairperson U Soe Maung who formerly held the rank of lieutenant general in the Myanmar military.

He also worked as the Union Minister for the Ministry of President’s Office (2) under U Thein Sein’s government. In a speech, he said that the party will promote financial businesses, and help local and foreign banks operate smoothly.

He also pledged that the party, which was formed in 2019, will make efforts to generate more electricity and improve road communications. The party, which is widely known as a nationalist party, also focuses on Theravada Buddhism, which is Myanmar’s most widely-observed religion, according to the speech.
