Disaster management specialist warns people in Rakhine, Chin State to shelter from cyclone

A disaster management specialist, closely following the trajectory of Cyclone Mocha, has warned at midday that people in Rakhine State and southern Chin State immediately shelter or go to shelters.

According to Sonia Leonard, researcher on Climate Change and Disaster Management, Cyclone Mocha is now a Category 5 Cyclone over Rakhine State with very dangerous destructive winds of over 167 mph with up to 186 mile mph expected in the next two hours.

People should immediately go to shelter.

Meanwhile, Cyclone Mocha will be Category 3 Cyclone when moving over Chin State with winds up to 121 mph with the impact expected around 4-6 pm Myanmar time.

Again, the advice it to move to a safe shelter.

Cyclone Mocha has been dubbed a Super Cyclone and will cause significant damage to Myanmar and Bangladesh.
