There was an explosion at the traffic police post at Tamwe Roundabout in Yangon at about 5:30 p.m. on 24 July.

A Tamwe resident said: "The sound of the bomb explosion was so loud that people from Bahan Township, which is close to Tamwe, heard it. We heard that the explosion happened at the traffic police post at Tamwe Roundabout."

The resident said that after the explosion over 10 junta military and police personnel carried out surprise checks in front of the Tamwe Ocean Shopping Centre, searching pedestrians, and checking their belongings and phones. They also took photos of the area where the explosion happened.

The attack was allegedly carried out by the Free Fighter force using a homemade grenade.
