There was an explosion at the Yebyu Township Education Office in Tanintharyi Region’s Dawei District at 9.30 p.m. on 19 June, according to local residents.

A local resident said that there were no casualties and the bomb was probably detonated as a warning to junta troops.

He said: “While I was sleeping, the house was shaken by the explosion and I woke up. It was dark, so people did not dare to go out. What I saw this morning was that it was slightly damaged outside the education office.''

It was unclear who carried out the attack however, eyewitnesses who lived close by said that they saw three men leaving after they stuck a warning letter to the building.
