Fifteen junta soldiers were killed in attacks in Magway Region’s Pakokku Township on 24 May, according to the Myit Chay- Kyun Chaung Defense Force (MC-KC DF).

A bomb blast near the eastern part of Kangyisu Village in Pakokku Township killed 13 junta soldiers and two junta personnel were later killed when they were ambushed by the MC-KC DF on the Myit Chay to Kyun Chaung Road, according to the MC-KC DF.

Police and Pyu Saw Htee militia members were reportedly returning from a robbery in Kangyisu Village at around 1:00 p.m., so we attacked them with mines on a section of the Myit Chay to Kyun Chaung Road”, said a MC-KC DF representative to Mizzima. He went on to explain that when the soldiers in the truck found one of the MC-KC DF mines by the side of the road they loaded it onto their truck and then the MC-KC DF detonated it via remote control.

According to a reliable source all the truck’s occupants were killed.

Later the same day, 24 May, at 6:00 p.m. two vehicles containing junta troops and Pyu Saw Htee members were ambushed by a joint force of the MC-KC DF and the Northern Seik Phyu People’s Defence Force (NSP) on a road to the west of Tantkyi Mountain in Pakokku Township. Two junta personnel were killed in the attack, but no defence force members were killed or injured, according to a MC-KC DF representative.
