Five sites in Bago including Thingyan stages hit in bombing campaign

A total of five sites in Bago were attacked with bombs including a gambling club, administrative office and Thingyan holiday pavilions on 10 April, reports the Bago Region People’s Defence Force.

Junta soldiers were reportedly injured in the attacks.

The Bago Region PDF said at 8:00 p.m., 1st Company of Battalion Unit (2) Bago region led by Major Kyauk Khe detonated a mine at the Awaiyar Ward Administrative office in Taw Kywe Kin Township, injuring the ward administrator and another official.

At the same time, a bomb exploded as a warning near the gambling club and a stage show under the auspices of the military junta outside of Gway Kone village in Pel Ngwe Gone town, Kyauktaka Township.

At around 8:30 p.m., a mine was detonated at the Thahtipahtan Ward Administrative Office.

Later that night, at around 12:15 a.m., the 2nd Company of Battalion Unit (1) in Bago Region, Thanatpin People Defense Force exploded a bomb at the Thingyan stage which was constructed by the Military Council in Thanatpin Township. A night guard was injured in the blast.

According to the Bago Region PDF, the Bago Region Battalion will strengthen their attacks on the Military Council and their related organizations and informants. They also request the public not to participate in junta-organized festivities or gambling over the Thingyan holiday period
