Four resistance fighters slaughtered in Myanmar junta attack on a Sagaing weapons production camp

Four People’s Defence Force (PDF) fighters were brutally killed in a Myanmar junta attack on a weapons production camp in Sagaing.

At 4:45 am on 6 September, the Light Infantry Battalion (703) of the Military Council conducted a raid on the weapons production camp of the Monywa district battalion (11) of the People's Defense Force (South Monywa). This operation took place near Kyaymone village in Monywa Town, Sagaing region.

The Military Council deployed a contingent of 70 soldiers to raid the production camp, while at the time of the attack, there were seven PDF fighters present. According to Oxygen, the Second-in-Command of the People's Defense Force (South Monywa), four of them tragically lost their lives, two sustained severe injuries, and one managed to escape.

“All six captured soldiers from the PDF were subjected to torture by junta soldiers. The junta soldiers shot and killed four of them immediately, while the remaining two sustained critical injuries,” Monywa district battalion (11) - People’s Defense Force (South Monywa), Second in Command, Oxygen said.

Following the destruction of the production camp and the killings, the Military Council troops departed from Kyaymone village. However, resistance forces managed to rescue two injured PDF fighters.

According to reports, the Military Council soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion (703) are operating under the Hmawbi Military Operation Command No. (4) based in Yangon.

According to Oxygen, the Second in Command, the extent of damage to the weapons and the total loss resulting from the attack are still being verified.

As per reports, a grave will be constructed as a memorial to the fallen fighters, ensuring that they are forever remembered as martyrs.

Six of the fighters involved in the incident belong to various forces, namely the Monywa District Battalion (11) of the People's Defense Force (South Monywa), the Monywa Peacock Defense Force, and the Local People's Defense Force. All of these forces are based in the Sagaing region and are actively fighting against the military regime.
