A clash broke out between local resistance force and the junta troops in Ye Lel Kyun area, Yesagyo township, Magway region at around 3 pm on January 20.

"70 junta troops or so arrived yesterday. Soon after we had opened fire, we retreated. They fired back with heavy artillery," said a spokesman for the Phoenix Special Guerrilla Forces.

The fighting lasted about 20 minutes and it has not yet known about the casualties of the junta troops.

Fighters of the local defence force were reportedly able to withdraw without casualty. The operation was jointly carried out by the Ye Lel Kyun People's Defense Forces, Allied forces and the Phoenix Special Guerrilla Force (Yesagyo).

Yesagyo Myoma Police Station was raided by the resistance on November 18. In that incident, the fighting lasted for more than an hour and the police station was set on fire.
