Indian and Myanmar nationals arrested with heroin in India’s Mizoram State

Mizoram State Police Force announced on 2 October that it had arrested two individuals, one from India and one from Myanmar, in possession of 249.36 g of heroin worth 12.4 million rupees.

The police team that arrested the two individuals identified them as Thangzamuana, aged 30, from Manipur State in India and Lianlamkho, age 26, from Myanmar.

According to the police the heroin was found concealed in 19 cases of soap.

The men have been charged under sections 21(b) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and section 14 of the Foreigners Act, according to Indian news media reports.
