Junta boats attacked on Chindwin river near Sagaing Region's Monywa

Local resistance forces attacked a group of junta boats on the Chindwin River, disabled one of the boats and killed and injured many junta soldiers at about 8:00 a.m. on 25 July.

According to the Mahauurar Dragon People's Defence Force (PDF) a group of military junta boats left Alone-Min Daunt port, in Sagaing Region's Monywa Township at 7:00 a.m. before the resistance forces attacked them with heavy weapons and small arms near to Kin Village tract at 8:00 a.m.

The junta soldiers on the boats returned fire with heavy weapons and small arms, but there were no casualties among the defence force members.

The engine of one of the junta boats was damaged and many junta soldiers were killed and injured, according to the Mahauurar Dragon PDF.

It said that by 8.45am the junta boats were unable to continue on their journey and had to dock between Kani and Minkin Townships.

The defence forces involved in the attack were Chindwin Attack Force, Battalion (3), company (2) and Mahauurar Dragon PDF.
