The State Administration Council issued new gold coins on 21 December to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Myanmar’s independence on 4 January 2022, Myanmar Independence Day.
There were two types of gold coin issued. A one-tical one and a half-tical one. A tical is a unit of weight used in Myanmar, one tical is approximately equivalent to 16.33 grams (0.576 oz).
The one-tical coins are 26mm in diameter and 2mm thick. On one face there is a picture of a white elephant with the number 75. Below the elephant it says One Tical 2023 and Central Bank of Myanmar. Around the edge it says Independence Day 75th Diamond Jubilee.
