Myanmar junta’s decision to carry out first judicial executions in decades ‘will cause huge wave of anger’, warns HRW
Myanmar's junta will execute a former lawmaker from Aung San Suu Kyi's party and a prominent democracy activist, both of whom were convicted of terrorism, in the country's first judicial executions since 1990, a spokesman tells AFP.
The junta's decision is "all about intimidation" and "will cause a huge wave of anger in Myanmar, and will bring a massive global condemnation of the Myanmar junta," says Phil Robertson, a deputy director at Human Rights Watch.
