The Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF) claims that in August approximately 50 clashes occurred in Karenni State resulting in the deaths of 110 members of the Military Council, which included a lieutenant colonel, and the capture of three others.

According to the statement just released, starting from 2 August, battalions from the Military Council, which were part of Light Infantry Division (55), launched a military offensive and raided the villages situated between Demoso and Hpruso Townships with the objective of gaining control over the Demoso-Hpruso Union Road and retaking Mese Town in Karenni State. They engaged in daily battles with the Karenni Revolutionary Joint Forces.

As reported by the KNDF, the Demoso and Hpruso battle areas witnessed the loss of 110 junta soldiers' lives, including that of a lieutenant colonel, and left over 40 others injured.

Over the course of a month, 50 skirmishes occurred, resulting in the capture of three junta soldiers, as well as the confiscation of 15 small arms, one mortar, and various other items of military equipment.

In August, the Military Council carried out 45 airstrikes, resulting in the death of one civilian, while two others lost their lives due to artillery shelling. The KNDF reports that three children were injured as a consequence of a Military Council drone attack.

Additionally, a Christian church, two schools, and 20 residential houses were severely damaged due to airstrikes and artillery shelling by the Military Council, while 18 houses were destroyed as a result of arson committed by junta soldiers. Furthermore, KNDF reported the loss of five of their soldiers during the conflict.

At present, the Military Council forces appear to be strategizing to recapture Mese Township from the revolutionary forces. Furthermore, according to KNDF, Karenni forces are actively engaging in ambushes against Military Council soldiers and security forces whenever possible.

In June of this year, the resistance forces achieved a significant milestone by successfully taking control of the key strategic hill camps that were previously held by the Military Council in Mese Town. Following this development, regime forces initiated a coordinated and multi-pronged offensive campaign across Karenni State.

The junta's offensive operations have encompassed direct attacks on well-fortified resistance bases and strongholds.
