More than 90 border guard police at Maungdaw in northern Rakhine infected with Covid 19

Dr. Soe Win Paing, deputy director of the State Health Department, told Mizzima that 95 border guard police who had moved to Maungdaw Township, northern Rakhine State from Yangon region were infected with Covid 19 virus.

About 500 Border guard police force and their families evacuated to Maungdaw township from Yangon Region. Two of them showed signs of suspected infection and were initially diagnosed with the coronavirus.

As a result, about 150 of the 500 border guards who came in contact with them (two covid infected persons) were tested for the Covid 19 virus. The first batch was confirmed and found in 93 people.

Dr. Soe Win Paing, the deputy director, said that the Covid-infected border guard police would be kept at the Border Guard Battalion and watched and restricted for 10 days.
