Myanmar junta convoy attacked in Tanintharyi’s Dawei Township

A junta army convoy of nine vehicles was attacked with landmines on the Dawei to Ye in Tanintharyi’s Dawei township at 6:00 a.m. on 11 October.

The convoy was attacked with three landmines near Maung Mal Shaung Village as it was travelling from Dawei to Ye Phyu Town, according to the local who first told Mizzima about the attack.

Another local said: “No organisation has yet claimed responsibility for the attack and the junta army may have suffered fatalities, but we don’t yet know any details [of casualties].

After the landmine attack there was an exchange of fire between the junta soldiers and the defence forces who carried out the attack, according to a local.

After the attack junta soldiers were seen to be inspecting the area where the attack happened, according to a local from Maung Mal Shaung Village.
