People in many cities and townships of Myanmar conducted a ‘silent strike’ on 24 March as a show unity in opposing the military junta.

Photos of roads and markets without users and closure of businesses have gone viral online with cheering comments on the success of the stay-at-home protest.

The campaign was launched on social media some days ago although the military cut mobile phone internet access since 15 March.
