Myanmar State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi said that there were no serious problems with the COVID-19 vaccine and that vaccination would be delivered systematically.

"About one third of the healthcare workers who were received vaccination yesterday suffered minor pain, chills and rise a little body temperature. It happened about 12 hours after the vaccination but not so serious. After a while, it got better. So far we have not seen any serious problem. That is why we will continue to implement this plan systematically,” she said.

She made this remarks in a speech to the public on the night of January 28 regarding the latest outbreak of the COVID-19.

COVID-19 vaccine, the first of its kind in Myanmar, was first given out from January 27 to front-line health workers, volunteers, and more than 68,000 healthcare workers were vaccinated on January 27 and January 28, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
