Mizzima

Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, gave a talk to students at Columbia University about his role since the 1 February 2021 coup.

He talked with the students on 15 February, at the William and June Warren Hall of Columbia Law School in New York City. The event was organised by the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).

During his talk, the ambassador reviewed his current role as a diplomat, explained to the students how the military dictators illegally seized power in Myanmar and discussed the country’s future.

He also reiterated that the international community should do more to support the Burmese people’s struggle.

Following the talk, there was a question=and-answer session with the students.
