Myanmar citizens in Japan reportedly met with former Japanese Prime Minister Hatoyama Yukio on June 20 at the YU AI office in Tokyo, Japan.

A Myanmar pro-democracy activist said, “The main things of our request is to connect directly with CRPH and NUG for support, to urge the Japanese government to implement the decisions of the upper house and the lower house, to help refugees and those who get into trouble if they joined a company as
they cannot extend their visa at the embassy and their visa expired.

Former Prime Minister Yukio reiterated during the meeting that he does not accept the military coup d'etat and that he will do his best to put pressure on the military council to bring peace to Myanmar and to negotiate with the NUG government and work for Myanmar."

Having connected with the National League for Democracy, the former prime minister recruits two or three trainees from Myanmar each year to provide agricultural training. He is said to be helping to develop Myanmar's agriculture and increase income.
