Mytel telecom towers blown up in Mandalay’s Kyaukse Township

A Myanmar resistance group reports that they blew up three Mytel telecommunication towers in Sabe Taw village, Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region.

According to the Kyaukse District Defense Force (KDDF), two resistance fighters blew up the towers owned by the military regime at 5:30 a.m. on 27 April.

Ko Thura, platoon commander of KDDF, said that after the attack six villagers, said to be pro-military, came out and blocked the road, only to run away when the KDDF pointed their guns at them.

A truck carrying eight junta troops arrived and inspected the bridge at the entrance to the village, according to Ko Thura.

Telephone reception in and around the village was down due to the destruction of the towers.
