Northern Alliance members voice support for peace efforts

Myanmar's Northern Alliance Ethnic Forces, comprising three ethnic armed groups, on Wednesday voiced support for the government's efforts for national reconciliation and nationwide peace, according to a joint statement of the forces, Xinhua reported.

The three forces members are Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and Arakan Army (AA).

They expressed their desire to join hands with government forces to settle military disputes and political matters through dialogue.

Encouraged by the it negotiating body, the Federal Political Negotiation and Consultative Committee (FPNCC), a meeting with the government's Peace Commission is being arranged, according to the joint statement.
