The Three Brotherhood Alliance resistance group has declared its readiness to conduct the “second phase of a coordinated offensive” to mark one month of Operation 1027 on 27 November.

The announcement, made on 25 November, hints at a “nationwide operation” after they occupied 171 military outposts as of 25 November, including Chinshwehaw, Hpawng Hseng, Kun Long, Man Kan, and Nam Hkam townships in northern Shan state, under Operation 1027, that began on 27 October.

Li Kyarwen, the spokesperson of the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) told Mizzima that the armed conflict will increase on 27 November as other ethnic armed groups are attacking the Military Council in coordinated efforts.

“The armed conflicts are expected to intensify in the future. We do not need to push other ethnic armed groups to fight. We will continue to remove the Military Council,” said Li Kyarwen.

In addition to northern Shan State, the Karenni resistance forces have launched “11.11 Operation”, and the Arakan Army (AA) broke their ceasefire and has conducted attacks on the Military Council in Rakhine State since 13 November.

The Chin resistance forces have also increased their attacks on the Military Council’s outposts in Chin State since the second week of November, and they now control the area around the India-Myanmar border town of Rikhawdar.

The National Unity Government (NUG) also announced that revolutionary forces have seized Kawlwin and Khampet towns in the Sagaing Region.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance force is comprised of the MNDAA, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and the AA.
