Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government (NUG) appealed to the international community to suspend the flow of funds, jet fuel, and military equipment to the oppressive Myanmar military regime.

He added this statement in his speech on the 2nd anniversary of the People's Revolutionary War declaration ceremony this week, held 7 September.

“I am imploring to suspend the flow of money to the Military Council and severely restrict the purchase of ammunition and jet fuel. The international governments must continue excluding the recognition of the terrorist regime and prove that there is no place for the military dictatorships in the contemporary world,” said Acting President Duwa Lashi La.

In his address, the Acting President reported that the Military Council had conducted more than 1,400 airstrikes on civilian homes and places of religious buildings, resulting in the tragic loss of 4,023 lives since the coup took place.

"I wish to emphatically inform the international community that our citizens are bravely battling the dictatorship at the risk of their lives. The Myanmar military, recognized as terrorists, is openly perpetrating crimes against humanity. It is imperative that they are held accountable for these crimes and not allowed to escape with impunity," he said.

He further conveyed his appreciation for the Burma Act included within the United States' National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the exclusion of the military regime from ASEAN, and the stance of Timor-Leste on Myanmar.

He also appealed that for those genuinely interested in aiding the people of Myanmar to support the rapid achievement of the Spring Revolution.

“If the international community efficiently assists us, the revolution can progress swiftly with minimal impact on the public,” he added.

At present, the UOB Bank in Singapore has halted the Military Council's financial transactions, while citizens are actively organizing signature campaigns to oppose the importation of arms from Singapore.
