PDF attacks Pyu Saw Htee camp in Bago’s Myebyar Village

The Pyu Saw Htee government militia camp in Myebyar village, the edges of Gyobingauk Township and Okpho Township, in Bago region was attacked by the People's Defense Forces (PDF) on 9 February.

Some 20 fighters of Gyobingauk-PDF attacked Pyu Saw Htee leaders, who were holding a meeting in Myay Pya village in Okpho Township at around 9:30 pm on 8 February.

“We received specific information that Pyu Saw Htee leaders were holding a meeting last night. That's why we raided them. They did not even have time to pull the trigger. All five people died there,” a Gyobingauk-PDF official told Mizzima.

The statement said that the five killed were Pyu Saw Htee leaders, Naing Win, San Ngwe, Kyaw Oo and another two people. The PDF forces, who later retreated, suffered no casualties..

A PDF official said that it was revenge because Pyu Saw Htee members had participated with military junta troops in the shooting of one man and the arrest of another in Nyaungbin Ai Village east of Gyobingauk Town, for posting NUG profiles online in February.

"Among the dead are those who shot and arrested the young men that day. A village administrator, who chased the youths and arrested them, escaped because he was not there last night. We had already made up our minds to retaliate in any way we could for the youth who died in our township. If junta-appointed administrators and Pyu Saw Htee members support the military regime, our lives are in danger. I want to say if they are not worried about losing their lives, they can continue doing whatever they want,” warned the PDF leader.
