Generation Y Guerilla (GYG) detonated a bomb at the entrance to the Mayangone Township Court near Eight Mile Junction in Mayangone Township, Yangon at 11:30 am on 26 August.

When the incident occurred, there are 19 Junta soldiers stationed in the court compound, according to the resistance group GYG.

“We detonated it at the front gate of the court. At the entrance, there are lots of junta soldiers guarding with guns. The exact number of deaths is still unknown,” said a spokesperson for GYG.

What is known is that at least two members of the Military Council were injured, but as of going to press, it is unclear whether any soldiers were killed.

Yangon, Myanmar’s commercial capital, is seeing increasing attacks by People’s Defence Forces (PDF), despite increased junta security.
