People’s Defence Forces (PDF) claim to have killed four Military Council soldiers and injured seven others when they used mortars to attack the Hla Taw Police Station in Wetlet Township, Shwebo District, in Sagaing Region.

Between 10:00 pm and 11:00 pm on September 27, combined PDF forces reportedly attacked the troops stationed at the Hla Taw police station with 60-mm mortar shells.

"We heard one of high rank officer of military council troops was killed and the rank has not yet been confirmed," said a Chindwin Attack Force information officer.

According to reports, the police station was attacked twice in three days, but the People's Defense Forces were able to retreat unharmed.

The operation was jointly carried out by Monywa District People's Defense Force, Chindwin Attack Force 3rd Company of 3rd Battalion, Galon PDF, Black Leopard People's Defense Force, Peacock Emperor People's Defense Force, Theik Di Shin Defense Force and Naung Yoe Force.

According to the Chindwin Attack Force’s information officer, about 300 Military Council troops launched an offensive in the area of Wetlet Township and the fighting are taking place in Wetlet Township areas.
