PDF raids military-owned rubber factory in Nyaung-Pinkwin Village, Tanintharyi Township

People’s Defence Force (PDF) battalion (2) and a coalition of forces raided a military-owned rubber factory in Nyaung-Pinkwin Village, in Myeik District’s Tanintharyi Township, on 8 May.

When the rubber factory under the Directorate of Armaments was raided, members of the military personnel and Pyu Saw Htee fled, according to a spokesperson from PDF battalion (2).

''The Junta troops quickly fled, so we did not get any weapons. However, we set fire to the rubber factory”, he said.

The military personnel fled to the nearby Light Infantry Battalion (561) who retaliated by firing heavy weapons at the PDF members, according to the local residents.
 
On the morning of 8 May, PDF battalion unit (2) and the coalition also jointly attacked Sin Phyu Shin (4) HtonKha Prison in Tanintharyi Township’s Thein Khun village tract. The attack killed three junta soldiers and injured others.
