A leader of the junta-aligned Pyu Saw Htee militia leader and 100-household administrator of Aukkaing Village in Bago Region was shot dead on 6 July.

Thayarwaddy District Battalion 3802 guerrilla force claims it carried out the shooting, which happened at 6:25 a.m. in Aukkaing Village in Okpho Township.

A press officer from the group said: “We shot him four times at his house. We received letters of complaint saying that he, together with the Military Council and police, was extorting money from people in the village. We knew he had a gun but, when we finished the operation, we didn't have time to look for the gun due to security issues.”

It was reported that Myint Oo was working along with Surveillance Officer Zaw Tun Too from Okpho Police Station in Okpho Township to extort money from illegal lottery sellers, liquor stores, wood smugglers and even innocent civilians.
