Seven police officers shot whilst shopping

Seven junta police officers were shot and three died whilst they were shopping in Yesagyo Township, in Magway Region.

They were attacked by a coalition of local defence forces at 10.30am on 23 May, whilst they were shopping near Myay-Taw Village in Yesagyo Township.

According to the local defence forces three of the police officers were killed and the rest were seriously injured in the attack.

They also managed to confiscate two G3 rifles, 35 rounds of G3 ammunition, a grenade, two mobile phones and over 30,000 kyats (about $16 USD) according to a video posted on the defence forces’ social media account on 23 May.

Mizzima is still investigating to confirm the exact number of casualties.

The groups involved in the attack were reportedly Bagan-Nyaung Oo PDF, MGN-Tiger, YSO.I S A (Ye-Lei-Kyun Guerrilla) and the Black Wolf PDF-Mdy.
