Yangon Region

  • Despite violent actions by the junta armed forces in various ways, anti-junta people made a night strike against the military dictatorship at a place in Yangon on Thursday.
  • In Mingaladone Township, a house in Kyankhinsu Ward raised a flag and asked for help due to difficulties in daily basic needs caused by unemployment during the third wave of COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday, the junta administrator gave a scolding to that family.
  • In South Okkalapa Township, a queue of over 1000 people was waiting to buy medicines at Shwe-O pharmacy near Nandawun market on Saturday morning. With the excuse of not complying with the rules of COVID-19, junta police did not allow them to buy medicines. They also told the pharmacy not to continue their sales.
  • As the program “From the People to the People”, private YBS (7) ran their bus services from South Dagon to Pansodan road free of charge for a day.

Mandalay Region

  • On Friday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township, there was a bomb explosion in the office of Ward (G) at about 12:00 pm Saturday. Reportedly, there might be casualties due to the incident.
  • On Saturday morning, the junta armed forces raided the area where Myataung rally youth had been staying. Reportedly, 11 people were arrested and another two were injured by gunshots.
  • On Saturday, a rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • Despite violent actions by the junta armed forces in Mandalay, Amarapura Township Students’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Sagaing-Mandalay road, raising the victorious flag of the fighting peacock.
  • On Saturday morning, the junta armed forces in ordinary cars made a crackdown on a rally of Mandala University Students. Reportedly, a young protester was arrested.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement.

Sagaing Region

  • On Friday night, local residents of Monywa-Amyint roadside community marched against the military dictatorship, banging pots and pans.
  • In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung Taung General Strike went around the villages on Saturday and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • In Ayadaw Township, there was an anti-junta movement with COVID-19 preventive measures in Taughtlat area on Saturday morning.
  • In Shwebo Township, young residents of a village marched against the military dictatorship.
  • As their 174-day protest, Kalay General Strike led a march against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • On Saturday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • Magwe Region
  • At about 1:00 pm Saturday, the junta armed forces and Pyusawti groups set fire to Wunchone village in the south of Pauk Township. Reportedly, thousands of local residents had to run away.
  • In Myaing Township, anti-junta people led a “Sharing is Caring” campaign in a village on Saturday morning, distributing rice and vegetables to the needy.

Taninthayi Region

  • In Dawei, the youth led a night strike against the military dictatorship on Friday.

Ayeyarwady Region

  • According to the office letters of the military junta going viral online, cases would be closed for the lawsuits against 27 staff members of the public, including Dr. Than Min Htut, who were unjustly arrested for their participation in the CDM and anti-junta movements.

Kayin State

  • According to Kawthulay newsletter, about 77,000 Kayin ethnic people living in KNU area had to run away due to shelling and the military operations of the junta armed forces.

Kachin State

  • At about 4:00 am Saturday, KIA attacked the junta army stationing at Sidiyan village in the west of Nammati. Reportedly, there was severe fighting.
  • In Pha-Kant Township, the youth led a march against the military dictatorship in Lonekhine village on Saturday.

Chin State

  • According to the announcement of CDF Mindat on Saturday, about 20 junta soldiers died and many others were injured in the battles between CDF and the junta armed forces from 19th to 29th July.
  • According to Mindat Township Administration, 14 junta soldiers died in the battles between the junta armed forces and CDF-Mindat, CNF, CDF-Matupi from 27th to 29th July. As for CDF-Matupi, they lost three members.

Shan State

  • At about 8:00 pm Friday, armed organizations used ammunition to fire at a station of the junta people’s army between Mantmai and industrial zone in Muse. Reportedly, members of the junta people’s army had to run away.
  • In Muse of Shan North, a member of the junta people’s army beat a civilian with his gun in Mantwain area.

Kayar State

  • At about 11:00 am Saturday, there was a violent confrontation between the Loikaw-based junta army and a combined force of KNA-KNDF near Dawmukala village in the north east of Loikaw.

Summary on 31st July

  • In Yangon, there were violent crackdowns on public protests by the junta armed forces. As in the cases of oxygen, the military junta put restrictions on the purchase of medicines. On the other hand, there were “From the People to the People” campaigns, helping each other in a time of hardships.
  • In Mandalay, the junta armed forces continued their violent crackdowns on the protests. Despite such violence, various forces marched against the military dictatorship in the region.
  • With the excuse for clearance operation in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces had been carrying out violations of human rights. Consequently, there might be more conflicts. The same thing happened in some townships of Magwe Region bordering with Sagaing and thus, thousands of local residents had to run away for refuge.
  • As for other states and regions, they had almost no protests. Local residents were faced with the COVID-19 pandemic and the disaster of floods. They were in need of assistance.
  • In Kachin State, there were warfare activities by the revolution forces. On the other hand, the junta armed forces have been strengthening their power. Consequently, there might be more battles.
