The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The Southern People’s Defence Force conducted a public pledge event somewhere in the forest.
  • Together with the public all over the country, members of the Pekone PDF pledged to support the revolution in memory of those who had sacrificed their lives.
  • The Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) released a statement that the junta army committed human rights violations in 2020 against elected MPs who were arrested, charged with various sections, ill-treated during interrogation and killed.
  • On Sunday, the Southern PDF in Kayin State pledged to uproot the military dictatorship.
  • Western PDF Brigade (7) joined the public pledge on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, a combined force of Shwebo PDFs carried out a public pledge event.

Revolutionary Activities

  • At 10:37 am on Sunday, people in Yangon banged pots and pans as well as sounded car horns as a public pledge for the revolution.
  • Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces, Owl Community and Yangon Democratic Youth Strike conducted public pledges on YBS buses.
  • At 10:37 a.m. Sunday, some youths from Yangon TBS pledged for the revolution on a bus.
  • In Yesagyo Township in Magwe Region, Alegyun PDF and local people made a public pledge on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, Midland Seikphyu Township PDF led a public pledge event.
  • In Gantgaw District, local PDF Brigade (1) conducted an anti-junta protest and public pledge for the revolution on Sunday.
  • In a village in Pauk Township, there was a public pledge on Sunday morning for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Tanintharyi Region, Myeik District PDF led a public pledge event on Sunday.
  • In the Kanbauk Area of Yebyu Township, youths pledged for the revolution and protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In the Taku Area of Tanintharyi Township, local residents and PDFs made a public pledge and marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement with a public pledge.
  • At Mandalay's Zaycho Market, a monk made an individual strike, calling on the public to participate in pledges for the revolution.
  • In Salingyi Township in Sagaing Region, the Letbadaung Taung General Strike led a public pledge and an anti-junta protest on Sunday.
  • In Sagaing District, local people and PDFs pledged for the revolution on Sunday.
  • At the entrance to Monywa, a combined rally of Ayadaw Township Strike Committee and Monywa General Strike conducted a public pledge event and an anti-junta march on Sunday.
  • In Katha District, Indaw PDF led a public pledge on Sunday morning.
  • In the west of Shwebo Township, local people, surrounded and protected by PDF members, pledged for the revolution and marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Yinmabin District, the members of Unity force Monywa PDF carried out a public pledge on Sunday morning.
  • In Wetlet Township, a combined force of PDF Brigade (2) made a pledge for the revolution and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Chaung-U Township, youths and local PDFs pledged for the end of the military dictatorship at 10:37 a.m. on Sunday.
  • On Sunday, God Of Snake (Monywa) held a public pledge event.
  • On Sunday morning, the Taze Township General Strike led a public pledge and marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Kalay, the townspeople protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday, pledging for the revolution.
  • In Tamu Township, a PDF confiscated a licenseless motorbike owned by a local police sergeant on the Tamu-Aungzayya Road.
  • In Myaung Township, local people led a motorboat strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning, making a pledge for the revolution.
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, a rally of the Lonekhine Group marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship and pledged for the revolution on Sunday.
  • In Thegone Township in Bago Region, there was a public pledge together with a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • In a town of South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led a public pledge event and protest against the military dictatorship.
  • In Malaysia, there was a public pledge event for the revolution, with a fund-raising campaign in which participants paid some money to kick the sand bag that contain the images of Min Aung Hlaing.
  • In Mae Sot of Thailand, Myanmar people pledged for the end of the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Bangkok, Myanmar migrant workers conducted a pledge for the revolution on Sunday. Reportedly, they also played a football match to raise funds for the IDPs.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Kyaukgyi Township under the control of the Karen National Union (KNU), the junta army conducted three air strikes. Reportedly, four civilians were injured.
  • At about 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, there was heavy fighting between the VENOM and the junta armed forces invading Shweaye Myaing Village near Okkayitta Camp. Reportedly, more than 80 junta soldiers died. As for the local defence force, they lost three members.

The Military Council

  • The French Foreign Ministry summoned the Myanmar ambassador to France to protest against the execution of four political prisoners including U Jimmy and U Phyo Zayyar Thaw.
  • According to the junta Anti-Corruption Commission, more than 20 people, including those with political positions, were charged with bribery in the tenure of the military junta.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that Myanmar’s education was in a downward spiral and everyone has a responsibility to improve the education sector.
  • With regard to the peace process, the junta leader said that it was necessary to help with the daily basic needs of ethnic people in conflict areas and fulfill the desire of ethnic armed
  • organizations within the law.
  • According to the junta, legal action was taken under anti-corruption law against 60 Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers and state and regional ministers appointed during the administration of the NLD government.

Summary on 1 August

  • Even amidst international and local objections, the military junta with its don’t-care-attitude has been proceeding with the execution of democracy activists.
  • The military junta has been persuading ethnic people from conflict areas by providing basic needs. They do it, not because they want true peace, but because they are faced with a great loss and pressure in military and political sectors. If the ethnics fall into their trap, it will not be possible to get out from under the military slavery.
  • There were public pledge events for the fight against the military dictatorship throughout the country.
