The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that activation codes could be bought from NUG Pay agents. Each agent can open only 10 Wallets during the pilot project phase.
  • The NUG announced that at the time of the Spring Revolution the military junta produced and disseminated misinformation and false news which would defame the revolution.
  • According to the NUG, the military junta made up a piece of false news saying that the NUG had made a list of individuals with different views whom they wanted to kill.
  • The National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) announced that they had launched their official Facebook page for public communications and that they would soon launch the official website.
  • On Thursday, the NUG started to issue foreign exchange currency rates. They also appointed agents for NUG Pay in Myanmar, Thailand and Singapore.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, a police officer was shot dead in Tahan Ward while he was having his motorbike filled with petrol. 
  • In South Dagon's Myothit Township in Yangon Region, the Special Task Agency of Burma-STA assassinated Win Myint Zaw, a former captain and the manager of the electricity office who had been pressurising people to pay electricity bills.
  • On their 476th day of protest, a combined rally from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Khin-U Township, a man and his daughter aged three got injured after being shot by a junta soldier near Myindaung Village at about 9:00 am on Wednesday. Reportedly, the little girl is in a critical condition.
  • In Dibeyin Township, a local PDF conducted a bomb attack via drone at Kyungbin Gate where the junta armed forces had been demanding money from the public. Reportedly, a junta soldier died.
  • In Sagaing Township, an alleged junta informer in Nyaungbinwun Village was assassinated.
  • Kalay District PDF Brigade (6) conducted a 14-day challenge to raise 120 lakh MMK to buy an M-4 carbine. Reportedly, they made it on Thursday thanks to contributions from the public.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, local people marched in support of the KIA, PDF and the NUG on Thursday morning. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yangon, there was an anti-junta march on Thursday, chanting ‘Students have nothing to do with prisons’.
  • According to Australian state-owned media, ABC, the new foreign minister of Australia said thaty Australia is considering further sanctions against Myanmar.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, youths protested against the military dictatorship on Thursday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • South of Myawaddy Township in Kayin State, a combined force of the KNDO and KNLA has been attacking the junta's Okkayitta military camp since the morning of 26 June. Reportedly, the junta armed forces have been conducting many air strikes and dropping Cluster Bombs.
  • In Kayin State, an armed group attacked the junta army near the livestock zone at the side of the Kawkarait-Myawaddy Asia Road on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, no less than five junta soldiers died.

The Military Council

  • Reportedly, the delegation led by Deputy Major General of the Royal Thai Army met with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and discussed the matters of peace, security and order on both sides of the border area.
  • Thai people are getting angry on social media because junta fighter jets from Myanmar had flown in Thai airspace and bullets from the Myanmar planes had landed on Thai soil.
  • In Maila Township in Shan east, there was a case in which a junta soldier raped a young woman aged below 18.
  • Despite a lack of security in the local area, the Chin State Team will take part in the 23 rd junta arts competition in October.
  • In Taunggyi in Shan south, a motorbike parked in the compound of No. (2) Police Station was stolen at about 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
  • In Titain in Chin State, the junta army arrested two leaders of the Shalom Youth Committee on Monday.
  • According to the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Meeting in Naypyitaw on Wednesday, seven more projects will be developed in Myanmar.

Summary on 1 July

  • While a combined force of the KNDO has been conducting attacks on the junta army camp, a Deputy Major General from the Royal Thai Army met with the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and discussed border security. Although the details are still unknown, it might pose difficulties for revolutionary forces. After the discussion, the junta fighter jets went into the territory of Thailand and there were damages to Thai property due to fallen bullets.
  • The motorbike theft in the compound of Taunggyi Police Station showed weak security in the tenure of the military junta. Before then, there had also been such crimes in the neighborhood of the police station.
