The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that they have been setting up Central Commission on Investigating Military Crimes to investigate the cases which arise in the People’s Defensive War, bring justice for victims and establish legal enforcement.
  • The NUG expressed their strong condemnation against the military junta who have been unjustly sealing off the property of anti-junta people. They stated that it was an illegal and cowardly act of oppression.
  • On Sunday, there was the sale of the NUG’s bonds at Flushing Town Hall in Queens Ward of New York in the U.S. Reportedly, bonds worth 168,200 USD were sold within three hours.
  • Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation-NUG will issue newsletters on a monthly basis. Reportedly, they did the very first one on Monday.
  • According to the NUG’s Representative Office in Australia, Dr. Tun Aung Shwe, representative of the NUG in Australia, went to Adelaide town in South Australia State, and met with Myanmar people in Australia and State MPs on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Ministry of Human Rights and Ministry of Women, Youth and Children-NUG announced that starting from 9:00 am Saturday, the junta armed forces had conducted air strikes on Chinpone village and near-by villages in Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region without distinguishing military and civilian targets.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces destroyed 50 motorbikes and 5 cars by burning them in Chinpone village on Monday morning. According to local residents, the dead bodies of 7 people, who had been killed by junta soldiers, were found.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army fire ammunition via Mi35 helicopters on Thabyeaye village on Monday morning. They then unloaded 60 junta soldiers from 2 ordinary helicopters. Reportedly, they set fire to the monastery and people’s houses.
  • As a 386-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday. They also showed that they stand with Ukraine people resisting the invasion of Russia.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta armed forces opened fire via 4 helicopters on Thabyeaye, Kyaukpyote and Moekaung villages. Reportedly, local people had to run away in the chaos.
  • As a 355-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Mandalay, a rally led by women marched against the military dictatorship on Monday, burning the flag arising out of 2008 Constitution by the military junta.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Monday, Amarapura Township Students’ Union hung an anti-junta banner - ‘Bloody for bloody debt’ at Sathmu Park on 62 street and 78 street where there tends to be a lot of inspections and arrests by the junta armed forces.
  • On Monday, Ko Lay Pyay Soe Moe, CEC member of Yangon Students’ Union, Ko Myint Thein Naing, member of Dagon University Students’ Union, and Ko Waiyan Phyo Moe, Vice-chair of Burmese Students’ Union Central were sentenced to 3 years in prison together with labour.
  • On Monday, Yangon Urban Guerrillas warned again not to sell Myanmar Beer and other products by the junta army. They also announced that the public could report it to them.
  • In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, Generation Z Defense Force GZDF conducted attacks with remote bombs at the USDP office and communication office at 5:00 am Monday.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, a rally of People Strike protested against the military dictatorship on Monday, holding signs for participation in the revolution and chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Longlone of Taninthayi Region, Township Strike Committee made a pray event on Monday in memory of 4 people who had been shot dead by the junta armed forces.
  • In Longlone Township, a combined rally of women, youth and basic education students expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Monday morning in memory of the violent crackdown on the Dawei democracy movement by the junta armed forces last year.
  • In Taninthayi Township, the junta army fired ammunition on Taku village at 7:30 am Monday. Reportedly, 2 houses were damaged.
  • Myanmar Police CDM Channel announced on Monday that police officer Myint Aung from Ayeyarwaddy Regional anti-drug force (49) had been arrested by the military junta.
  • In New York, USA, make-up artist May Oo, who has a great love for Myanmar and who has the desire to always serve the country, conducted make-up training at the hall of a historic building in Queens Ward on Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • KIO/KIA released a statement of warning not to sell beer, alcohol and cement produced by the junta army in Phakant District.

The Military Council

  • In an interview with Russia media Sputnik, the junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that they were in support of the invasion of Russia into Ukraine including Special Military Operation of Moscow. He also said that Russia had the right to protect their national interest.
  • In the junta media, there was a statement by a former soldiers association that they were satisfied with the legal statements by the junta delegation at the ICJ.
  • According to the junta newspaper, a report could be made confidentially with regard to illegal trade or people asking for money in the departments in trade.

Summary on 28 February

  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces with prejudice have been conducting air strikes on a daily basis. In addition, they have been burning villages and robbing public property. Consequently, thousands of local people have had to run away.
  • Despite too much oppression, there were still protests in Yangon and Mandalay. As for some townships, they also managed to conduct activities of guerrilla revolution.
