The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Monday, there was a meeting between the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Committee Representing the Sagaing Regional Hluttaw.
  • In a government meeting, the Acting President claimed that only the NUG can guarantee the stability of the country and international investments.
  • In cooperation with the Principles of Humanity, the NUG Ministry of Defence has been conducting training on International Humanitarian Law since September 2022.
  • The NUG Minister of Human Rights called on the Human Rights Commissioner to be more serious about the human rights violations and crimes by the junta army all over the country in a report to be submitted to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army raided two local villages and destroyed people’s property.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Sagaing Township, the junta army raided Thettawya Monastery in Ywathitgyi and arrested two monks together with four villagers. They then forcibly confiscated a car belonging to the monastery.
  • In Monywa, the Youth Network held an anti-junta demonstration on Tuesday, hanging a banner that said: ‘You can kill only the people, not the revolutionary spirit’.
  • In Myinmu, there were attacks on the junta armed forces stationing at the Myanmar Economic Bank and the No. (1) Basic Education High School. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died.
  • In Palaw Township and Tanintharyi Township in Tanintharyi Region, no less than 30 people including CDM education staff were arrested by the junta army at night.
  • In Madayar Township in Mandalay Region, there was a mine attack on the junta army on the way to Kyungbin Village. Reportedly, four junta soldiers died.
  • On Tuesday, a rally in Mandalay demonstrated against human rights violations and violence against political prisoners.
  • Reportedly, the Swiss company Nestle will shut down its businesses in Myanmar.
  • Youths from the Yangon Revolution Force carried out a protest in memory of four martyrs, who died in the Spring Revolution by wearing shirts with the martyr’s pictures on them.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Demoso Township and Fruso Township in Karenni State, the junta armed forces have been firing heavy artillery day and night. As a result, an internally displaced person lost their life. According to the KNDF, there were also casualties in the attack on an IDP camp on Monday night.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing ordered private schools not to teach western democracy in cities including Yangon. He also said this should be codified in law.
  • According to the website of the passport office, they have had up to 40,000 online bookings from 2,500 people a day for the period between 27 February and 21 March.
  • The Financial Action Task Force, an organisation that monitors businesses to check for money laundering and terrorism, decided to keep Myanmar on its blacklist.
  • According to the junta Aungbale Lottery Department, their sales declined by hundreds of million MMK in February.
  • In a meeting with local business people, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that coconut related products could be produced in Rakhine State as there were plenty of coconut trees in the area.
  • The junta Deputy Minister of Education said that they would give 10,000 MMK per month to every student attending industrial, agricultural and livestock high schools.
  • Government employees, professionals, experts and citizens who have run away to Thailand, should contact the Myanmar Embassy if they want to return home.
