The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG stated that the junta judges, legal officers and police members were collaborators of traitors to the country and that strong action would be taken against their activities by the Ministry of Judiciary Affairs-NUG in accordance with the law.
  • The NUG announced that the military junta was fully responsible for the loss of human rights and legal rights of the people who had been unjustly arrested and that strong action would be taken against all the junta people for their lawless activities.
  • U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights-NUG, said that it became the responsibility of everyone when they had to fight back for regaining their inherent human rights, which had been violated.

Revolution Activities

  • The United Nations Security Council released a statement calling for immediate release of all the people who had been unjustly arrested, including State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi and President U Win Myint.
  • In South Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, basic education students’ unions conducted a paper strike ‘Uproot the military dictatorship for public’s democracy’ on Thursday.
  • At about 1:00 pm Thursday, youth from Burmese Revolution Solution- BRS team expressed their desire at Tamway Ocean, with the banner - ‘All dictators, get ready for being hanged’.
  • In Thingangyun Township, a combined rally of students’ unions marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Gutgone Village of Tontay Township, PDF threw a grenade at a military truck on patrol on Wednesday evening.
  • In most townships of Yangon, city development committees put pressure on the public, by phone or in person, not to close markets and shops.
  • In Dagon Myothit Seikkam Township, Daw Ohnmar, a resident of Yuzana Garden City, hundred-household leader and allegedly junta informer, was shot by Yangon Revolution Group (YRG) on Wednesday evening.
  • In South Dagon Myothit Township, Ma Zun Htet Htet Win, a primary school teacher, was shot by unknown people in Ward (25) on Thursday afternoon.
  • Despite heavy fighting in Kani Township of Sagaing Region, there was a protest against the military dictatorship somewhere in the forest on Thursday.
  • As a 305-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a military truck was attacked with 30 mines by a combined force of local PDFs near Tebinkan Village at about 9:30 am Wednesday. Reportedly, no less than 10 junta soldiers may have died.
  • In Latbadaung Taung area of Salingyi Township, betel pickers expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning, chanting slogans for the release of the people in detention, including Daw Aung San Su Kyi.
  • In Pale Township, local PDF arrested police Lwin Moe Tun from Kandaunk area police station and kept him in accordance with rules related to prisoners of war.
  • In Wetlet Township, a combined rally of students’ unions spread anti-junta brochures at the places where the junta Pyusawti members tend to go on Thursday morning.
  • In Pakkoku Township of Magwe Region, General Strike Committee led a campaign on Thursday, calling on all people to take part in a silent strike on 10th December.
  • In Thayet, the military junta forced shopkeepers of Myoma Market to open their shops without fail on silent strike day.
  • On Thursday, Mandalay protest leader Dr. Tay Zar San urged the public to wear black, make 3-finger salute, take photos and share on social media on the day of silent strike on Friday.
  • In Myingyan Township, a military truck and 3 junta motorbikes were attacked with mines by local PDFs at a stream-crossing bridge at 8:45 am Wednesday. Reportedly, all motorbikes were damaged and 3 junta police members died on the spot.
  • On Thursday, Mandalay youth carried out a campaign at public places, calling for participation in the silent strike on Friday.
  • In Thanphyu Zayat of Mon State, junta soldiers shot dead U Tha Nge on a motorbike for no apparent reason in Kyantkhineyay Ward at about 9:15 pm Wednesday.
  • According to Chin National Army, CDF Tantalan lost three members in the fighting against the junta army in town.
  • According to a focal person of CNDF, the Chair of Township Monks’ Team, who had come back from Kalay to Phalan, and U Chit San, deputy supervisor of youth training school, were released on Wednesday.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, there was a bomb explosion at the court on Wednesday. After that, junta soldiers opened threatening gunfire on Thursday morning.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On Wednesday, KNU Central officially announced that they, in cooperation with PDFs, had been fighting against the junta army in Kayin State.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta newspaper, the junta leader called on Commander-in-Chief of Royal Cambodian Armed Forces to carry out activities for common interest in accordance with ASEAN Charter in their chairmanship.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that dairy cow farming should be systematically done in Pyin Oo Lwin to produce plenty of milk, yogurt and cream so that citizens could enjoy nourishing meals.
  • According to the junta media, Cambodian Prime Minister and the junta foreign minister exchanged views on the potential in developing bilateral interest and proceeding close relationships in regional and international community.
  • The junta newspaper accused the NUG and PDF of conducting terrorist acts on religion, and called on the public to join hands with security forces for no more cases like that.
  • According to the junta newspaper, former Minister and two Deputy Ministers of Electricity and Energy were charged under the anti-corruption law.

Summary on 9th December

  • The military junta used various methods to ban the revolution of the public. In recent days, pro-military groups used faked accounts on social media and conducted religious triggers. The military junta did the same openly through the junta media. The public need to take care about such activities intended to create religious conflicts.
  • The NUG called for a silent strike, which would shake the military junta. As for the public, they were getting ready for it. On the other hand, the military junta put pressure on the people in various ways not to join it. It is an event in which the public must show their collective power without arms against the junta army.
