The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 10:00 am on Thursday, there was a meeting of the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration.
  • The NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration announced that 106 local public administration teams and 116 local defence forces had been formed in Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region.
  • The NUG Minister of Human Rights claimed that it was not enough for the international community just to release statements condemning the military junta. It is necessary for them to join the public in the fight against the military dictatorship.
  • At the United Nations, the Myanmar Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said that children in Myanmar had sometimes been the target of violent activities by the junta army and it was disheartening to see that some children had to learn in bomb shelters to avoid the dangers of the junta’s air strikes and heavy artillery.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Magwe Region, a combined force of PDFs conducted an attack on a gunpowder refinery that was part of the No. (14) Defence equipment Factory based in Ngaphe Township on Thursday.
  • At 2:05 am on Thursday, there was an attack with projectiles on the junta army Ka-Pa-Sa (12) in Thayet.
  • In Taze Township in Sagaing Region, PDFs conducted two mine attacks on the junta army stationed in Kantoma Village who took away people’s belongings. Reportedly, 13 junta soldiers died and three others, including an officer, were seriously injured.
  • On their 700th day of protest, a combined rally of local villagers from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.
  • At the entrance to Monywa, there was an anti-junta march on Thursday, the second anniversary of the formation of Monywa General Strike Committee.
  • In Kani Township, there was a Spring Revolution rally prior to the birthday of General Aung San that also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • On Thursday morning, a rally of people from Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Launnglon Township in Tanintharyi Region, the Dawei District Democracy Committee conducted a campaign against junta army products on Thursday morning.
  • In Pulaw Township, a female member of a local PDF has kept the shoes decorated with the badges of the junta soldiers who died in local battles.
  • In Daegu in South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led an anti-junta movement at the Korea-Myanmar Peace Center.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Thantlang Township under military rule in Chin State, the CNA/CDF attacked and took over a local police station on Wednesday night. Since, the junta army has been constantly conducting air strikes in the area.
  • In Mobye on the border of Shan State and Karenni State, the junta army fired mortar rounds that fell onto their own troops killing five junta soldiers.
  • In Kutkhine Township in Shan North, the KIA conducted a guerrilla attack on the junta army on Union Road on Thursday.
  • In Beelin Township in Mon State, the junta army fired mortars into Minsaw Village. According to the Karen National Union (KNU), nine houses were damaged in the incident.
  • According to KNU Central, People’s Defence Forces and Drone Units have been fighting against the military dictatorship in the areas under the military leadership of KNU Brigades.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that at a time when there is a lack of stability in the country after the military coup, Ayeyarwady Region has been peaceful and there has been all-round development so, he was satisfied with it.
  • In the meeting with the junta departments in Ayeyarwady Region, the junta leader said that it was necessary for government employees to be individually dutiful and to take care to keep confidential information secure.
  • The military junta announced that Pyi Road in Yangon will be temporarily closed on 10 and 12 February as there will be ethnic food fairs and a celebration of Union Day in the People’s Square and in the ground of the Hluttaw.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they had been making an effort to be able to hold elections with dignity.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, the export of mineral resources earned $235 million USD from April to December 2022.

Summary on 10 February

  • With the abuse of the Constitution, the military junta took the power by force. Since then, their dignity has been at the rock bottom. On the other hand, the junta leader claimed that they would hold an election with dignity.
  • Since the declaration of the military rule in some townships, PDFs have had heavy fbattles with junta armed forces and taken control of junta bases. As for the military junta, it has been carrying on with its airstrikes as usual.
