Summary on 9 January

  • In Loikaw of Karenni State, there was a heavy fighting between the junta armed forces and Karenni Forces+PDFs. Despite using fighter jets and armoured vehicles, the military junta had a great loss there. As usual, the junta armed forces turned to civilians as targets in their attacks. They blocked off the area so that local people could not run away. It seems to be the sign of using human shields at the time of their loss.
  • As for Kayin, Chin and Sagaing, they had battles on a daily basis. In Sagaing, PDFs became more and more powerful. With their protection, anti-junta talks were organized.
  • In Yangon, Mandalay and Magwe, there were frequent activities of guerrilla revolution. As for Taninthayi Region, their powerful PDFs began to fight against the junta armed forces. Judging from these facts, it is likely that more and more soldiers would desert the junta army, led by Min Aung Hlaing, and the military junta could collapse in the near future.
