Yangon Region

· In Lammadaw Township, there was an explosion at Mawtin electricity office on Kanna road at about 5:30 am. Although there was no injury, the roof of the office was blown off in the explosion.

· In Mingaladone Township, there were explosions at the junta electricity offices on Friday morning. Although there was no injury, some parts of the buildings were damaged.

· In Yangon Region, the military junta has instructed to check overnight guest lists targeting those who rent houses to stay for a short period and inspect the cars parked at condo buildings at night.

· In Sanchaung Township, staff members of the junta electricity office collected electricity bills by force. After that, there was an explosion at Sanchaung electricity office at about 10:00 am.

· In Thonekwa Township, U Myo Myint Aung, junta-appointed administrator of Phayagyi village, was shot dead between Sinpinkan and Kyweko villages at about 9:00 am Friday. Enquiries are being made for further confirmation.

· At about 10:00 am Friday, the junta armed forces broke into a house on Myomanyein road in Ward (7) and a house on Aungminkaung (4) street in Hlaingthaya Township. They then opened fire as a threatening act. Reportedly, a young man from the house on Aungminkaung (4) street was arrested. During their shooting, an old woman of over 60 in the ward, who had chronic heart disease, died of a heart attack.

· In Kyauktada Township, a hand-made bomb was thrown into a car parked in front of the revenue department (headquarters) on Kanna road at about 3:30 pm Friday. Consequently, an explosion happened and a woman near the car was injured. After the explosion, a military truck in charge of security on Trader road arrived there and security was tightened.

Mandalay Region

· Man Myataung rally, Cooperative University students’ rally and gems traders’ rally took to the streets on Friday morning and protested against the military dictatorship.

· Man Aung Pinle General Strike, in cooperation with Phayagyi rally, went around the city and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· Chanting for the downfall of the military dictatorship, a rally of Mandala University students took to the streets in the city.

· A combined rally of Man Phayagyi, Cooperative University students and Chan/Zi in Unity, took to the streets and expressed their desire for an end to the military dictatorship.

· Some residents of Mandalay made a humanless strike, with best wishes for Mother Su and anti-junta words in flowers.

· With a large number of people, a rally of Man Engineering Group expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, holding signs - “We will do revolution. We will also take care of our health”.

· A rally of Man Aungmye Thazan took to the streets in the afternoon and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship. Although they planned to conduct the protest in the morning, they had to postpone it due to security measures.

· Manlay Pyinyat Monks’ Union take to the streets every day without fail and peacefully express their desire for the release of those who have been unjustly arrested and against the military dictatorship.

· The military junta has laid additional charges against former Mandalay Region Chief Minister Dr. Zaw Myint Maung and former Minister for Power and Construction U Zarni Aung under the law of anti-corruption.

· In Saka village of Myingyan Township, a 26-year-old man named Mg Phyo Hlaing Win was shot dead by the junta armed forces at about 9:00 pm Thursday.

· On Friday morning, the junta armed forces inspected every passer-by in front of the university on the way from Myingyan to Nyaung-U. They also tightened security, using armed people in plain clothes.

Bago Region

· In Gyobingauk Township, the junta armed forces arrested a political activist named U Moatseit or U Tun Tun Oo, who had returned from hospital after receiving medical treatment for COVID-19 infection, at his house in Marin Thanphyuchaung village on Friday morning. Reportedly, they released him at about 1:00 pm.

Sagaing Region

· Ko Manzar Myemon, a leader of Chaung-U Township protests, was charged with Section (505-a). Reportedly, his fingers were broken in the investigation. As he had been issued a warrant, he had been staying at Shantoo village. He was arrested on the morning of 8th June and sent to Monywa prison.

· In Tantsi Township, Ko Kyaw Myo Tun, the junta administration clerk in the Sanswe Sigyi group, was killed by decapitation near Bogyoke statue round-about at about 8:00 pm Thursday. His headless and lifeless body was found at Chaung-U divergent point on Friday morning.

· In Kani Township, three family members in Kane village were attacked with knives and guns by a group of 10 people in the early morning of Thursday. In the incident, U Moe Aung, Daw Than Than Aye and Myo Min Thu lost their lives. The valuables in their house were not taken away.

· In Kwechaung village of Yinmabin Township, there was an explosion at the house of the younger sister of Kachin State chief military officer Myat Thet Oo at about 8:00 pm Thursday. After the explosion, the house was on fire. Then, the junta armed forces arrived and exploded sound bombs. Therefore, the villagers had to run away.

· In Pale Township of Yinmabin District, the farmers protested against the military dictatorship while working on sesame farms.

· In compliance with preventive measures against COVID-19, young residents of Kalay marched round the town on Friday morning and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

· In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung Taung General Strike went round the villages and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· A rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East wore black shirts in memory of Poet Katthi who lost his life two months ago. They then went round the villages, chanting for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· Holding signs with words of unity and strong determination, the youth in Monywa chanted “We’ll wear masks. We’ll also destroy army” and protested against the military dictatorship.

· In Kani Township, the junta armed forces and Pyusawti members had been stationing in Michaungdwin village for two days. During their stay, they robbed valuable property from the villagers. They also destroyed food and paddy seedlings. Reportedly, they left for Minkin Township on Friday morning.

· Holding signs with anti-junta slogans, Dibeyin townspeople went round the villages and made a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship.

Magwe Region

· Myaing PDF announced that some business people, in cooperation with the military junta, have been producing too much timber in the northern zone of Myaing Township and those people are to stop their activities. If not, they would take necessary action against them. 

Ayeyarwady Region

· In Bogalay, local residents made a humanless strike at dawn, floating a bamboo raft with words - “Downfall of the military dictatorship” into the middle of Gonenyindan river.

· Amidst the high rate of COVID-19 infection in Wakema, the junta health department no longer carries out tests and just sends the people back home.

Taninthayi Region

· In Longlone Township, a combining rally of Yebyu and Gadat Ngeseik villages expressed their objection to the military dictatorship. Young residents of Nyinmaw village protested against the military dictatorship, holding signs - “We will never kneel down before your army boots”.

· Longlone General Strike went round the wards in the township on Friday afternoon and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· The public in Dawei made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship in crowded markets on Friday morning.

· Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with a rally of young students, went round the town on motorbikes in the afternoon and expressed their desire for an end to the military dictatorship.

Kachin State

· In Winemaw Township, KIA shot mortars at the junta army stationing at Shwe Nyaungbin village at about 8:15 pm Thursday.

· Moegaung townspeople made a protest against the military dictatorship at dawn, holding signs - “We will never kneel down before your army boots”.

· In Pha-Kant Township, there was an explosion at the administration office in Thayagone Ward on Friday morning.

· KIA said that the military junta has been constantly making up stories to divide between the public and KIO/KIA. Therefore, the public should be cautious about what they hear.

· In Phakant Township, Tamakan Myothit residents protested against the military dictatorship, raising signs - “Tamakan against the age of fear”.

Kayar State

· Despite a ceasefire by local PDFs in Kayar State, KNDF said that there might be battles again if the military junta continued to conduct human-rights violations.

Chin State

· Due to the high rate of COVID-19 infection in some townships of Chin State, COVID test-booths have to be reopened, led by Christian religious leaders.

Mon State

· In Kyaikhto, there was an explosion near military affairs security office at about 4:00 pm Thursday. Reportedly, those in the office blindly fired their weapons in response.

· The youth in Paung Township made a guerrilla protest, holding signs - “The power of Paung against the military junta and COVID-19”.

· Young residents of Mawlamyein made an indoors paper strike with posters - “We don’t want the Fascist Army which is destroying the country. Uproot the Fascist Army”.

Rakhine State

· Rakhine State Administration Council has instructed to temporarily close border trade points in Rakhine State given the high rate of COVID-19 infection, starting on 15th July. There are reportedly more than 600 transmitted cases in the state.

· Regarding the charge against former Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Bu with Section (505-a), a trial was conducted online on Friday morning. Although he said that he was not guilty, the junta court stated that he was guilty and are proceeding with the case.

Shan State

· In Gyaythi Township, there was a battle between two Shan armed organizations - RCSS/SSA and SSPP/SSA in Wanit village in the afternoon of 7th July. In the exchanges of fire, Nan Nwam, a farmer of 50, was hit with a bullet and sent to Kolan hospital.

· In Kyaukme Township, the dead body of a 56-year old man named U Kaw was found near Kywegone village monastery at about 6:00 pm Thursday.

· Shan State Administration Council has issued a statement that local PDFs have been conducting informer-clearance activities at the junta schools and offices. Therefore, caution needs to be taken for security.

· In Muse, the junta-appointed district administrator, township police officer, director of border trade and township administrator tested COVID-19 positive. The border trade point has been closed by China.

· The youth in Namkam made a guerrilla protest with posters containing anti-junta slogans.

Nay Pyi Taw

· Due to the high rate of COVID-19 infection, all schools in the country have been temporarily closed from Friday to 23rd July.

· According to the latest tally by AAPP, there were up to 898 innocent people who lost their lives due to ruthless killing of the military junta after the coup.

· Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment - NUG announced that the arrangements of the military junta for 23 state-owned buildings and land with open tender do not represent the public. Therefore, the military junta don’t have the right to sell them. As for buyers, they are not to buy them and even if they buy them, the property will be confiscated as a state-owned asset.

· Regarding the charge against State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi with Section (67) under the communication law, the appeal was rejected by the district court. Reportedly, it will proceed in the regional court.

· Regarding the charge against NLD patron U Win Htein with Section (124-a) for defaming the State, a trial was conducted on Friday with statements from both sides. There will be another trial on 16th July to decide whether to proceed with the case.

· The junta electricity department announced that the public are to pay electricity bills and if not, they will have to ration electricity supply. They said the warning of the Anti-Fascism Force not to pay electricity bills and stop collecting electricity bills would do harm to the public.

Summary on 9th July

· In Yangon, there were no public protests on the streets. However, there were explosions at the junta electricity offices and revenue department. The military junta put pressure to pay electricity bills and if not, they threatened to supply power only in shifts. As for the revolution forces, they conducted explosions at 8 electricity offices in the last three days. The military junta has been preparing to check overnight guest lists targeting those who rent houses to stay for a short period. 

· Amidst the high rate of COVID-19 infection in Mandalay, there were still public protests with great momentum. As for the military junta, they continue to tighten security measures to restrict protests.

· In other states and regions, there were still public protests against the military dictatorship. However, there were almost no protests in Shan State and Chin State due to the high rate of COVID-19 infection.

· Although the military junta has been putting pressure for the payment of electricity bills, they have been confronted with attacks at electricity offices. They also have to close schools throughout the country within more than one month after opening amidst objections due to COVID-19. They face challenge to their legitimacy in the international community and at the same time, they are faced with more pressure from COVID-19 infection in the country.
