The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Under the guidance of Ministry of Education-NUG, exams have been held for students in Yinmabin District of Sagaing Region.
  • The Minister of Education-NUG expressed his sincere thanks to the organizers for conducting the exams at a school in Yinmabin District of Sagaing Region.
  • Ministry of Humanitarian Assistance and Natural Disaster Risks Management-NUG has been providing aid to those who have had to leave home due to the violent activities of the junta armed forces.
  • Union Minister of Foreign Affairs-NUG said that the three points for the opposition, set by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing in the meeting with ASEAN Special Envoy, did not make sense at all and that they did not need to be taken into consideration.
  • On Friday, the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) expressed their sorrow for the passing away of the assassinated former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
  • There was the second meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Committee Representing Mandalay Regional Hluttaw.
  • On Saturday, the NUG Representative Office in Japan expressed their sorrow for the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
  • In Tamu, Pyusawti members under the junta killed two Indian people. Regarding it, the NUG stated that the case shed light on how the crisis in Myanmar had been affecting security of the countries in the region including neighbouring ones.

Revolution Activities

  • On Saturday, the National League for Democracy-NLD announced that they would not approve of the illegitimate election planned by the military junta who had abolished the result of the 2020 General Election with a landslide of public support.
  • In Phalan Township of Chin State, the junta army set fire to Tarl Village for no apparent reason on Saturday morning.
  • In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, a military convoy was attacked with mines by a local PDF near Thabyehla Village at 11:00 am Saturday.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township, Daw Cho Yamin Han, a CDM teacher from Zayatgwin Village, was sentenced to 15 years in prison on the charge of Section 50 (j) under the anti-terrorism law at the junta Obo Prison Court.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township, Captain Aung Hein Thet, who had returned home after his injury in a frontline battle, was shot on Saturday morning. According to UG, he was likely to die.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township, the junta army arrested over 150 gold miners working at the block of the junta Holdings Limited in Kantaung Village on Friday night. 
  • On 2 October 2021, 5 monks and 3 students from the rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union were arrested in a violent crackdown by the junta army. Reportedly, they have each just been sentenced to 3 years in prison.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement.
  • In Thayetchaung Township of Taninthayi Region, youth marched against the military dictatorship in a village on Saturday.
  • In Dibeyin Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army raided Pyangya Village on Friday, firing mortars. They then set fire to the village. Reportedly, 25 houses were burnt to ashes.
  • In Khin-U Township, local PDF conducted a bomb attack via drone on the junta army and Pyusawti in Pyintaung Village on Friday morning.
  • As a 485-day protest, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • On Friday evening, a convoy of 9 military trucks was attacked with mines twice by local PDF on the way from Sagaing to Myinmu. Reportedly, a military vehicle was damaged and no less than 20 junta soldiers might have died.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, a combined rally of Lonekhine Group marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday, chanting slogans in support of the KIA and PDF.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, Par San and Luthaw, two policemen from Kaingdawma Police Camp, joined the local PDF together with 2 weapons at 9:45 am Friday. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • Thatone District Karen National Union-KNU announced that U Kyaw Myo Min, the NLD MP who had been killed by the junta army, was recorded to be a martyr of the Spring Revolution.
  • KGZ (Karenni Generation Z) managed to produce long-range 130mm grenades. Reportedly, they would soon send them to frontline battlefields.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta propaganda media, PDF trainees who had not committed any crime were transferred back to their parents in Moenyin District of Kachin State on Saturday morning.
  • The military junta expressed their objection to the statement by the UN Human Rights Council on 7 July regarding the human rights conditions of Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar.
  • According to the junta media, 33 outstanding students who had passed the 2022 matriculation exam with the highest scores went on another excursion trip to Singapore from Thailand on 6 July.
  • Reportedly, Chair of the Union Election Commission in the tenure of the NLD government and 2 other members were each sentenced to 3 years in prison.
  • On Friday morning, there was a meeting between the junta peace team and the delegation of Lahu Democratic Union led by their secretary general in Nay Pyi Taw.

Summary on 9 July

  • In the meeting with ASEAN Special Envoy, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing talked about the 3 points to be followed in the meeting with the opposition. As those points did not make sense at all, Minister of Foreign Affairs- NUG said that it was not necessary to consider them. There was a lot of criticism as the recent trip of Special Envoy ended up with nothing. Assumingly, the ASEAN might develop better relations with the NUG.
  • In Mandalay Region, guerrilla activities, which had been silent for a while, resumed. It shows that Mandalay people would never let their blood cool down for the revolution.
  • In the upcountry area, there have been frequent battles. As for the junta armed forces, they have burnt local villages again. Reportedly, they have done the same in Chin State.
