The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Under the guidance of the NUG, students from primary to high school levels in Sagaing, Magwe, Chin, Shan South, Kayar and Kayin have been attending public-based schools supported by well-wishers.
  • According to the NUG, there was a meeting between the NUG Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Swedish Foreign Minister on Wednesday. Reportedly, they discussed Myanmar’s affairs.
  • In a meeting with Central Committee on the Interim Local Public Administration and the Interim Chin National Consultative Council, the Union Prime Minister said that it was necessary to systematically provide public services to cover all the people.
  • Homemalin Township Public Administration stated that the junta armed forces had defamed the image of PDFs by conducting a bomb explosion at a local school.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Yesagyo Township in Magwe Region, a PDF attacked the junta gate at Hsinphyushin Bridge. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died, another one was caught alive and many weapons were confiscated.
  • In Yesagyo Township, the junta army set fire to Thedaw Village at about 6:00 am on Thursday. They also arrested around 20 local people.
  • In Myaing Township, a rally of villagers marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • In Amn in Rakhine State, U Paing Paing aged over 30, the junta administrator of Ward (4) and Ward (5) in town, died of knife wounds.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, a rally of villagers took to the streets on Thursday, raising an anti-junta banner.
  • In Tamu Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army and Pyu Saw Htee fought with a local PDF for almost the whole day on Wednesday. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among members of the junta armed forces. As for the PDF, they lost a member and three others were injured.
  • In Kantbalu Township, junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members set fire to Zaw Chaung Village and Alekone Village on Wednesday. Reportedly, nearly 200 people’s houses were burnt to ashes.
  • In Sagaing, youths took to the streets on Thursday, raising a banner for Federal Education and against the junta slavery education.
  • In Shwebo Township, the junta army raided Taohn Village on Thursday morning and shot dead five people. They also arrested a large number of villagers including women and
  • children.
  • On the 455 th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Wetlet Township, the junta army raided Bote Village on Wednesday and killed Zayyar Khine, a young man aged 18, by burning him. They also arrested five villagers and took them as hostages.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Sonechaung Village made a dawn protest against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • Wai Moe Thu, a junta soldier and prisoner of war, admitted that members of the junta armed forces, from soldiers to officers, had been using drugs and that they had been burning villages and killing people.
  • On Thursday, a well-wisher from Yangon donated rice to an IDP camp in Demoso Township in Karenni State.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State where there has been an internet blackout for over nine months, there was a march for the KIA, PDF and NUG on Thursday. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Hleku Township in Yangon Region, Ye Win, a junta army captain in charge of a MyTel telecom tower, was shot dead.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Maishu Township of Shan south, the SSPP-SSA announced on Thursday that they would not leave their three camps although the junta armed forces told them to do so. They also stated that if the military junta conducted an invasion, there might be battles in the area.

The Military Council
 

  • According to the junta media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing went to Nyaung Hnabin, the birthplace of the 2008 Constitution, on Wednesday.
  • According to the junta media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing instructed that the buildings in Nyaung Hnabin Village of Hleku Township, where the 2008 Constitution had been written up, should be renovated.
  • At a time of strong objections by the international community including the United Nations, the military junta released a statement related to the death penalty of Ko Phyo Zayyar Thaw on Wednesday night, saying that 21 people, including the General Manager of MyTel, had died due to him.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that according to the nationwide household census, women accounted for 53% of Myanmar’s population and most of them were dependents.
  • The NUG Ministry of Labour announced that they would conduct a survey related to jobs abroad and issue OERC instead of the current OWIC. Regarding this, the junta Ministry of Labour stated again that those with OERC would not be allowed to leave the country and
  • only the people with OWIC could go abroad for work.
  • According to the junta media, a Film Academy Award Ceremony will be held in the winter. For the last two years, 2019 and 2020, the event could not be held due to COVID-19.

Summary on 10 June

  • In a meeting with female soldiers, the junta leader said that 53% of the country’s population were women and most of them were dependent, causing a loss in labor. With his hidden jealousy of women’s performance and leadership, he said this to suppress and discriminate against women.
  • As for the NUG, they have been more positively received in the international community than the junta. As the NUG has gained recognition from some countries, the military junta has become worried. Even the junta ministry had to announce that those with NUG- recognized labour cards would not be allowed to leave the country.
  • In Sagaing and Magwe, there have been heavy battles. As for the junta armed forces, they have been setting fire to local villages. The more they do so, the more powerful PDFs become. In some areas, local PDFs took control of the junta police camps one after another in recent days.
