The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG Union Minister of Planning, Finance and Investment said that they had earned up to two million USD from the sale of shares for the property, confiscated by the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing at No. (14) on Inlya Road, within 72 hours.
  • On Saturday, the NUG Ministry of Health reported to the National Health Committee online about their activities in the past year.
  • According to the organizers of the One Million in One Month Campaign that is raffling an umbrella used by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, they have sold up to 36,000 tickets in 11 days.
  • The NUG Ministry of Education announced that there would be Zoom class lessons by an experienced professor for students and teachers majoring in Chemistry and Bio-chemistry who joined the CDM.

Revolution Activities

  • On Monday, ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights: APHR released a statement calling for continuous pressure on the military junta at the US-ASEAN Summit to be held in the US.
  • According to MP sources, one of the NLD MPs for Oatpho Township in Bago Region passed away on Sunday night.
  • In Kalay in Sagaing Region, there was a rally against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Monywa Township, two military trucks were attacked with mines by local PDFs at about 2:30 pm on Sunday. Reportedly, 15 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myinmu Township, the junta army raided a camp of the Black Eagle Defence Force-MMU near Peku Village on Monday morning. Reportedly, they shot dead eight PDF members on watch duty there. 
  • In Pale Township, a combined rally of strike leaders and local people protested against the military dictatorship on Monday, holding anti-junta signs in memory of Poet Ko Katthi who died last year.
  • In Minkin Township, local PDFs attacked junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members going towards Upper Katha Village on Sunday. Reportedly, 10 members of the junta armed forces died and 11 others were injured.
  • In Shwebo Township, a rally of villagers marched for the NUG against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Dibeyin Township, a combined force of local PDFs conducted a bomb attack using a drone on the police station in Saibyin at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
  • In Kayin State, 66 political prisoners were taken away from Hpa-An Prison all of a sudden on Sunday morning. When they objected, they were beaten by the junta army in a violent crackdown. Reportedly, four of them were seriously injured.
  • In Kyauktaw Township in Rakhine State, there was a fire at Mahamuni IDP Camp at about 1:00 am on Monday. Reportedly, over 200 houses were burnt down.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • In Myitkina in Kachin State, the Political Activate Union Force (PAUF) carried out a protest against the military dictatorship at Dukahtaung Market at 8:00 am on Monday. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and CDM.
  • In Maubin in Ayeyarwaddy Region, an armed group calling themselves Thwe Thaught have been doing threatening things, such as shooting and sending letters.
  • In Ywangan Township in Shan State south, nearly the whole village of Peyintaung has had to run away due to junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members.
  • At Yangon International Airport, there have been inspections of CDM staff. In addition, there have also been similar inspections and arrests of residents going abroad from areas where there is fighting.
  • In Ahm Township in Rakhine State, the military junta ordered occupants of 300 houses and shops to move out by 21 May at the latest, saying that they have been built on junta army land.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • The Arakan Army (AA) stated that it was difficult to trust the military junta despite their invitation to peace talks as they have continued making trouble for Rakhine people.
  • The Karen National Union (KNU) announced that they would not attend the peace discussion that junta leader Min Aung Hlaing has invited them to. They also claimed that if the military junta wanted political discussion, they would have to give up their seizure of power.
  • On Monday, a spokesperson of the KNU said that the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing was not the official government as they had seized power by force and thus, they did not have the right to officially invite anyone to political discussions.
  • According to an EC member of the KNU, a new Constitution of the Federal Union would be drawn up in accordance with the Federal Democracy Charter adopted at the Public’s Conference.
  • In Chin State, the CDF conducted guerrilla attacks on a military convoy on the Mindat to Matupi Road on Saturday and Sunday. Reportedly, no less than seven junta soldiers died, many others were injured and some military trucks were damaged.
  • In Fruso Township in Karenni State, Karenni Combined Force attacked a military convoy at 8:30 am Saturday. Reportedly, four military trucks were damaged and 15 junta soldiers on them died. At about 11:00 am, there was more fighting against the junta army and no less than five more junta soldiers, including a captain, died, according to the KNDF.

The Military Council

  • The second junta leader said that when projects in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone are completed, more than 300,000 jobs would be created.
  • According to the junta media, under-graduate and post-graduate courses at universities and colleges under the junta Ministry of Education will reopen on 12 May.
  • According to the junta media, the junta regional chief minister of Ayeyarwaddy Region met with school principals and school support  team members attending capacity-building training at schools in Inkapu Township on Sunday afternoon.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win said that it was necessary to invite new investments so that the country does not lose the taxation it deserves.

Summary on 10 May

  • At a time when international investors are leaving the country due to the military coup, the second junta leader talked about inviting new investments during his tour of the Thilawa Special Economic Zone. While the country is ruled by force without public support, no international businesses will come to Myanmar. However, if they did the military junta would give priority to their own self-interest, knowing that there would only be investors who would pay below-market rates for resources from Myanmar.
  • Knowing the bad habits of the military junta, ethnic armed organisations did not trust the invitations to peace discussions from the junta leader.
  • In Sagaing, the revolution was in great momentum with heavy battles. In Karenni State, there was also fighting against the junta  armed forces. Reportedly, both sides lost personnel throughout the country.
