Yangon Region

  • In Mingala Taung Nyunt Township, a combined rally of GSC, GSCN, AJMM and various townships expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship at about 9:00 am Monday.
  • In Mingala Taung Nyunt Township, the junta armed forces inspected mobile phones of young people and other passers-by near (124) and (125) streets.
  • In North Dagon Township, the public made an indoor strike against the military dictatorship.
  • On the anniversary of 8888 public movement, young residents of Hlaing Township expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • After a junta military officer had been shot dead in Kayan Township, there were warnings in the junta army that police and soldiers in plain clothes were to take caution when going out.
  • On Monday, Yangon residents marched for uprooting the junta army.
  • In Dala Township, there was gunfire among junta soldiers in charge of security at the city-hall at about 2:30 pm Sunday. Reportedly, one of them died and another one was injured.

Mandalay Region

  • On Monday afternoon, a bomb was thrown at No. (1) police station on (19) street in the east of Mandalay Palace. According to residents, a loud noise of explosion came out and there were exchanges of fire.
  • Although a video went viral that there was a protest against the military dictatorship inside Mandalay Prison at about 9:00 pm Sunday, prison authorities denied it at a local media on Monday morning.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Students’ Union announced their concerns for the security of political prisoners due to a violent crackdown on the protest in prison with opened fire by prison authorities and incoming military trucks. They also expressed their deep concerns about the medical treatment being denied to prisoners with COVID-19 infection.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union made an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Moegoke, there was a mine explosion via an incoming parcel of letters to the prison. In the incident, three junta policemen were injured. After that, there were tighter inspections of incoming letters starting from Sunday morning.
  • On Monday, a rally led by Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship.

Sagaing Region

  • In Tantsi Township, youth and farmers from a village conducted a farming strike against the military dictatorship on Monday morning, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • On Monday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East conducted a march against the military dictatorship, in memory of Poet Katthi who had been arrested and killed by the junta armed forces 3 months ago.
  • As their 183-day protest, Kalay General Strike marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • In Dibeyin Township, about 50 junta soldiers entered Marakan village with opened fire. Reportedly, two villagers were arrested with their hands being tied at their back.
  • On Monday morning, a combined rally of Butalin Township made a protest, “We will take back all old debt of 88 in 21”.
  • At about 9:00 am Monday, two bombs were thrown at the checkpoint on the entrance to Kawlin. According to residents, a second police officer died. Two other police and a soldier was also injured.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the junta armed forces entered Nyaunghla village on Sunday and destroyed 17 motorbikes by setting them on fire. With a great loss worth of millions, houses and shops in the village were damaged.

Taninthayi Region

  • In Longlone Township, youth in Nyinmaw village led an anti-junta movement on Monday afternoon.
  • In Dawei, a revitalized rally of Martyrs Ward made an indoor strike against the military dictatorship on Monday morning, “We will take back both old and new debts in 21”.
  • On the anniversary of 8888, the public led a night protest against the military dictatorship in the lower rural community of Longlone Township, “Get back a bloody old debt of 88 in 21”.
  • In Longlone Township, anti-junta people conducted a guerrilla protest in Lower Yebyu village on Monday afternoon.

Magwe Region

  • In Pwint Phyu Township, explosions happened constantly at the places of junta-pillars.
  • In Natmauk Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship in a village on Monday morning.
  • At dawn on Monday, a resident of Natmauk expressed his desire in support of NUG.
  • Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, Chief Minister of Magwe Region, and U Tar, Chair of Regional Parliament, were infected with COVID-19 in the prison.

Shan State

  • In Kyaukme of Shan North, the junta armed forces arrested a 22-year old man on 6th August, accusing him of being a PDF member. Reportedly, both of his legs were broken in the investigation. However, his right to receive medical treatment was denied.

Kachin State

  • In Pha-Kant Township, residents of Mashi Kataung Ward made a night strike against the military dictatorship on the anniversary of 8888 public movement.

Kayah State

  • On Sunday, there was a battle between a combined force of KA-KNDF and the junta army between Phekone and Fruso townships. According to KNDF, at least 10 junta soldiers died within one day of that fighting.

Kayin State

  • In the statement sent to the ceremony of Kayin Martyrs’ Day, the Chair of KNU said that the political process, including dialogue, had been retreating due to a military coup. It was no longer all right to rely on political negotiations.

Chin State

  • A combination of 6 Chin CSOs asked for the resignation of U Tin Hla, junta-appointed minister for Chin ethnic affairs in Rakhine State, as he was not elected by Chin ethnic people.

  • In Yangon, there were guerrilla protests. Likewise, the urban guerrilla revolution gained momentum.
  • Despite arrests in Mandalay, a variety of powerful rallies did not fail to march against the military dictatorship. There might also be activities of armed revolution.
  • In Sagaing Region, public protests had great momentum and so did the network of PDFs. In the very near future, the junta armed forces might have to give up that area.
  • In Kayin, Chin, Kayah and Shan states, there might be battles in the days to come as the junta armed forces had been strengthening their power.
