The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In Sagaing Region, the Kanty District PDF announced on Saturday that the junta's administration staff were to leave their positions and areas where the NUG has introduced its own administrative systems.
  • On Sunday, the NUG sent a statement marking the Eid Al-Adha Islamic religious holiday where it expressed its gratitude to the Muslims fighting for the end of the military dictatorship.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Hlaingthaya Township in Yangon Region, there was a grenade attack on a military car on patrol in Nyaungkyaywa Ward early in the morning of 8 July. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and one other might have been injured.
  • According to a representative from Dictator Revolt Front- an underground revolution force based in Yangon, they will leave the city for security reasons.
  • In Oatpho Township in Bago Region, a hundred-household leader, allegedly a junta informer, and his wife were assassinated by a local PDF at 7:30 pm on Saturday.
  • On Saturday, five monks and three people from the rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union were each sentenced to three years in prison at the junta court inside Obo Prison.
  • In Pyin Oo Lwin District in Mandalay Region, four local PDFs established an alliance. Reportedly, they will carry out attacks until they liberate areas.
  • In Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, a combined rally from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday. 
  • In Kani Township, there was an event in memory of 16 people killed by the junta army a year ago. Reportedly, the rally also protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Minkin Township, junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members were attacked with mines on Friday and Saturday. Reportedly, four members of the junta armed forces died.
  • In Monywa, 6 Pyu Saw Htee trainees, including the wife of a junta soldier, were arrested by a local UG in early July.
  • In Hpakant Township in Kachin State, a rally of gem workers marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • According to Helping Hands For Burma, they will organise a fund-raising event, a themed Spring Revolution Arts Night in New York, in the United States. Reportedly, they will donate the money to the needy in Myanmar.
  • In Seoul in South Korea, a rally of Spring Revolution supporters and Myanmar students protested in front of the Russian Embassy. against the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and President Putin of Russia for committing genocide.
  • In South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In Thatone District under the Karen National Union (KNU), there were more than 200 battles in six months. According to KNLA Headquarters, 445 junta soldiers died, 322 others were injured and three others gave up their arms. As for the combined force of the KNLA and the KNDO, they lost seven members and eight others were injured.

The Military Council

  • ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar questioned the junta leaders and asked if the 2023 Election was the only solution for peace in the country and if there were any other options.
  • Along the Yangon to Mandalay highway, the junta armed forces have been demanding 35,000 MMK per truck.
  • According to Thai Deputy Minister of Defence, the Thai government asked the military junta for fcompensation for the incident in which a Myanmar fighter jet had entered Thai airspace on 30 June.
  • The junta Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation announced that they had been making an effort to produce 5000 hand tractors for the 2022-23 fiscal year.
  • The junta Yangon Regional Government announced that some roads in the city would be temporarily closed for the 75 th Martyrs’ Day celebrations on 19 July.
  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its objection to the United Nations Human Rights Council 7 July approval of the of the proposal by the OIC about the human rights situation of Muslims and other minorities in Myanmar.
  • The junta Minister of Trade and Commerce said that policies on the import and sale of motor vehicles were being reviewed because of the current situation.

In Bogale in Ayeyarwaddy Region, administrators have been collecting lists of people to form so-called people’s armed groups comprising of 60 people in each ward.

Summary on 11 July

  • The ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar asked if the 2023 General Election was the only way to peace in Myanmar. He said that the junta election could not be a fair.
  • In Kanty District in Sagaing Region, a local PDF announced that junta-appointed administration staff should leave the area because the NUG public administration had started there.
  • In other areas of Sagaing Region, anti-junta protests and revolutionary activities were in great momentum. There might soon be an NUG administration in those areas as well.
