Spring Revolution Daily News for 11 November 2022 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • On Thursday, the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) released a statement calling on the ASEAN to officially come into contact with the NUG, the NUCC and the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) as the government of Myanmar. 
  • In his weekly speech, the NUG Minister of Defence stated that the military junta would not be able to resist the unity of revolutionary forces. 
  • In her speech delivered to the Global Townhall, the NUG Minister of Foreign Affairs claimed that Myanmar had found the future by turning the challenges of the military coup into new unity and collaboration. 
  • In a meeting on Wednesday, the Joint Permanent Secretary of the NUG Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration stated that there is no hierarchy in the public revolution and it is imortant that they work in an inclusive way. 

Revolutionary Activities 

  • In Thaketa Township in Yangon Region, an unexploded home-made bomb was found in front of the Min Nandar Housing estate at about 8:00 am on Thursday. 
  • In Tontay Township, the junta army arrested two young people from Kaloat Village on Thursday morning, accusing them of having relations with PDFs. 
  • On Wednesday night, the GenerationZ Defence Force & Supply Army set off explosions at two different locations in Insein Township. 
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday. 
  • In Taze Township, there was a heavy fighting between local PDFs and the junta army invading the area at 8:30 am Wednesday. 
  • Reportedly, 12 junta soldiers died and many others were injured. 
  • On Wednesday, local PDFs detained Lwam Ko Ko, a junta soldier who had come out drunk from local police station. 
  • In Myaung Township, there was a bomb attack using a drone on Kyaukyit Police Station on Wednesday morning. 
  • In Monywa Township, the dead bodies of three local people, killed by the junta army, were found in Htanlebin Village on Thursday morning. 
  • In Minkin Township, the junta armed forces and Pyu Saw Htee set fire to Konemaw Village and Kyaukmaw Village and stole people’s belongings. On Tuesday, they faced a guerrilla attack from local PDFs. Reportedly, there might have been casualties among junta members. 
  • In Sagaing Township, U Tin Thein, a man who had cleared mines for the junta on the Monywa-Mandalay Road, was arrested and killed on Wednesday morning. 
  • In Wetlet Township, the junta army randomly fired mortars into Sheinmaka Village on the night of the Tazaungdaing full moon. A woman was killed and three people, including a child and an old woman, were seriously injured. Reportedly, the child and the old woman are in a critical condition. 
  • In Pakkoku in Magwe Region, Ma Han Nway Oo, the wife of a junta army officer, was taken away by two armed young men and a woman at about 8:00 am on Thursday. 
  • In Dawei Township in Tanintharyi Region, two men were arrested by the junta police and soldiers in Kyetsarbyin Village on Tuesday night. Reportedly, one of them was murdered. 
  • In Thatone Township in Mon State, local PDFs attacked the junta army (No. 9) at 5:30 am on Thursday. Reportedly, three junta soldiers, including the commander of the unit, died and weapons were confiscated. According to the PDFs, the people in detention were released and rescued. 
  • In Shan State, the junta army fired mortars wildly at 9:30 pm on Wednesday. Consequently, two mortars fell into La-Ei Village on the western side of Pekone. Moreover, a house was damaged and three civilians were injured. 
  • The Assistance Association for Political Prisoners and the Women's League Of Burma released a joint statement calling for accountability mechanisms and reporting to civil society organizations- CSOs for the victims of sexual harassment by junta armed forces since the military coup in 2021. 
  • According to Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, over 2000 people have lost their lives due to the junta armed forces and over 16,000 people have been detained since the military coup in Myanmar. 

Ethnic Armed Organisations 

  • In Rakhine State and Paletwa in Chin State, there were battles at five locations on Tuesday alone. According to the Arakan Army (AA) on Thursday, 10 junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated. 
  • In Ponnagyun Township, junta army vehicles carrying rations faced a mine attack by the AA on Thursday morning. Reportedly, one of the vehicles was damaged. 
  • The Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) announced on Thursday that the AA had arrested Khine Mya Thar, a CEC member of their party, on Monday. 
  • In Myawaddy Township in Kayin State, even though there was no fighting in the area, junta army helicopters dropped bombs on Thaybawbo Village (1), where the KNLA and PDFs have been taking security measures, at 10:30 am on Thursday. 
  • In Demoso Township in Karenni State, snipers attacked the junta army in Thesule Village on Wednesday afternoon. Reportedly, a junta soldier died. 
  • Via Karenni National Defence Force, RFA published some videos in which a member of the junta army under Regiment (66) had been ruthlessly inspecting an ethnic person in Mobye Area of Eastern Military Headquarters. 

The Military Council 

  • On Wednesday, the military junta opened the Nay Pyi Taw State Academy. Reportedly, present on the occasion was the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing. 
  • The junta leader said that it was necessary for at least one university in each state and region to open Ph.D. courses. 
  • On Wednesday, the junta peace team and the New Mon State Party reviewed the agreements contained in the Union Convention Part (1), (2) and (3) whether they comply with the Constitution and existing laws. 
  • On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the ASEAN Economic Community Ministers, Energy Ministers, Transportation Ministers, Agricultural and Forestry Ministers. Reportedly, it was joined by the junta transportation minister. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Trade and Commerce, marine trade was worth over 14 billion USD in the current fiscal year from 1 April to the end of October. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Labor, more than 70,000 workers were sent to Thailand via the MoU from 11 May to the end of October 2022. 

Summary on 11 November 

  • The military junta opened a university, established using the state budget, in Naypyidaw. Reportedly, it is only for children of the junta community, not for the general public. 
  • Despite the violent activities of the junta armed forces, the anti-junta revolution is still going strong all over the country. 
  • The junta armed forces, led by Min Aung Hlaing, have been ruthlessly ill-treating and killing civilians throughout the country. In recent videos, junta soldiers from Regiment (66) brutally treated a person and seemed to kill him in Mobye. It highlights the failure of the junta army to follow military rules and how they are committing war crimes.
