Spring Revolution Daily News for 11 November 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • The Office in No. (1) Military Region stated that more than 50 junta soldiers had died and over 20 others had given up their arms in the battle to seize the town of Kawlin in Sagaing Region. 
  • The Union Prime Minister Man Win Khine Than stated that it would be clearly visible how strong the people’s Spring Revolution is and how weak the military junta is. 
  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was a meeting (36/2023) between Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and District People’s Administration. 
  • According to Ministry of Defence-NUG, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) confirmed that they had gained complete control of Kunlong, a town in Northern Shan State. 
  • Four MPs from Canada called on their government to recognize the NUG as the official government of Myanmar and promote interaction with them. 

Revolution Activities 

  • According to Data for Myanmar, the junta armed forces have set fire to 28,000 public’s houses throughout the country from January to October. 
  • On 1 November, there was a meeting among responsible personnel of the US State Department, officials from the USAID and some ethnic leaders from Myanmar at State Department in Washington D. C in the United States. 
  • In Yesagyo of Magwe Region, the PDFs attacked the junta’s Myoma Police Station in town at about 4:00 am Friday. 
  • In Chauk Township of Magwe Region, local guerrilla force was able to conduct no less than 25 battles in town and in the forest within a year. 
  • Taunggyi residents called on the public not to take part in the junta’s Dazaungdine Festival in Taunggyi at the time of heavy fighting throughout the country including Northern Shan State. 
  • On Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry warned their citizens in Myanmar not to go to the areas in Northern Shan State with heavy fighting. 
  • In Myingyan of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the Pyusawti’s inspection team including their local female leader Daw Thidar Yu Mon. Reportedly, four of them were injured. 
  • In support of Operation 1027, young people from Yangon provided basic food items with Eugenia to grassroots level people prior to the Eugenia Movement. 
  • Somewhere in Yangon, Octopus Social Group hung a banner prior to the Eugenia Movement. 
  • According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Myanmar, about 50,000 people have fled their homes in Northern Shan State due to heavy battles. 
  • In Kani Township of Sagaing Region, local PDF seized 6 junta’s vessels carrying timber and fuel oil in Chindwin River. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • In Kanmaing Area of Northern Shan State, local administration of the Northern Alliance provided rice to the displaced people on Thursday. 
  • Chin State People’s Police Force stated on Thursday that they had successfully completed the first training on special operation. 
  • Ta’ang National Liberation Army stated that a soldier from the junta army Ka-La-Ya (362) had defected to them. 
  • According to the Three Brotherhood of the Northern Alliance, their Facebook pages - the TNLA, MNDAA and AA, the pages sharing the news about Operation 1027 - are being hacked by the enemy. At the same time, some similar pages have come out. 

The Military Council 

  • According to Yangon City Development Committee, a reservoir containing 200,000 gallons is being constructed in Thaketa Township to supply water to 3 townships. 
  • In Naypyidaw, the UNHCR discussed with the junta’s responsible personnel for the acceptance of displaced people from Rakhine State. 
  • The military junta announced that they had sent back over 6,800 foreigners including Chinese citizens illegally entering Kokang Area of Northern Shan State. 
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing stated that tire tubes for bicycles and motorbikes must be produced locally. 
  • The junta propaganda media claimed that the border pass, suspended due to local battles, were issued again on China-Myanmar border. 

Summary on 11 November 

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they had regained control in Northern Shan State. In reality, the offensive by the alliance of revolution forces still has been in great momentum. The junta army still has had to let go of their outposts one after another. 
  • Despite a great loss of the junta armed forces in Northern Shan State and Sagaing, their leader Min Aung Hlaing has been joining various events one after another.
