The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the NUG Ministry of Defence, it has provided financial maternity support for the wife of a CDM soldier fighting together with the People’s Defence Forces (PDFs).
  • The NUG announced that there would be effective action against the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing and the junta staff for destroying people’s houses in urban and rural areas since the military coup.
  • The NUG claimed that the demolition of houses in big cities like Yangon and Mandalay was a junta plan to increase hardships for the public and weaken the revolution.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Longlone Township of Tanintharyi Region, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Wandwin Township in Mandalay Region, the WDRF shot dead Mg Shein, a Pyu Saw Htee member, in Thedawle Village.
  • In Bangkok, Thailand, the UG Family made a collection for the revolution on Sunday. Reportedly, they collected 10,800 baht.
  • In Usan in South Korea, Daegu Sayardaw led a protest against Myanmar’s military coup and a fund-raising event for the Spring Revolution.
  • In Selayan in Malaysia, the NLD (OC) conducted a fund-raising entertainment show at the Ideal Convention Center for the victims of violent activities by the junta army.
  • In New York in the United States, there was a march against the junta where people shouted: “Let’s save our Myanmar for the re-enjoyment of human rights”.
  • In Mizoram State in India, the Network for Myanmar organized a fund-raising sale for displaced people in commemoration of International Human Rights Day.
  • The Organisation against Bloody Money called on the public to boycott products from Thai PTT and its associates because they are making millions of USD for the military junta.
  • In Pauk Kaung Township in Bago Region, local PDFs blew up a MyTel telecom tower, owned by the military junta, in the west of Kaungsi Village.
  • In many parts of Yangon, youths protested against the military dictatorship and the junta’s death sentence on Sunday morning.
  • On their 640th day of protest, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Myaing Township in Magwe Region, there was a mine attack on five junta soldiers who were demanding money from the public. Reportedly, two of them died and two others were injured.
  • In Palaw Township in Tanintharyi Region, PDFs made a surprise check on Lakku Village according to a report from a member of the public and they confiscated illegal drugs.
  • In Longlone Township, there was an attack on Maungmagan Police Station. After that, three members of the junta police ran away from there, together with their weapons.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • On Sunday, the Pa’O National Federal Council (PNFC) called on Pa’O ethnic people to join hands in the fight for the liberation of Pa’O nationals and a federal democratic nation as well as against the military dictators.
  • According to a decision made at a meeting on 29 October 2022 by the Chin National Organisation, the CNO (Kalay Area Committee) will be renamed the CNO (Upper Chindwin Area Committee).
  • Near Namsam in Shan north, fighting continued between the junta armed forces and Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA). According to the PSLF/ TNLA, over 1,000 local people had to run away.

The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that all the stakeholders have to make an effort to build a society that respects human rights.
  • In Tanintharyi Region, the junta navy of the Myeik Archipelago has been looking after more than 150 Rohingya people who were found floating at sea because the engine failed on their boat.

Summary on 12 December

  • Since the coup, the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing has been badly violating human rights all over the country. On International Human Rights Day, the junta leader called on all those concerned to try to build a society with respect for human rights.
  • After the ceasefire with Arakan Army (AA), a large number of the junta armed forces suddenly invaded a TNLA. However, they had to be supported by air strikes and heavy artillery as the TNLA could defend themselves very well. Due to their tendency to target civilians, thousands of local people have had to flee their homes.
