Spring Revolution Daily News for 12 November 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • The NUG stated that the people’s Spring Revolution had gained greater momentum in late October and stepped up to another level from the people’s defensive war to strategic offensive. 
  • On Friday, there was a meeting among Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration- NUG, Kawlin District Coordination Team, District People’s Administration and Township People’s Administration. 
  • According to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG, the revolution forces released political prisoners unlawfully detained at the junta’s detention center in Myoma Police Station in Kawlin District of Sagaing Region. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, there was an attack on 200 junta soldiers near Alekone Village on their way to Kawlin. Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that over 80 junta soldiers had died and around 20 others had been injured. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Sagaing Region, the students from community-based schools of the NUG conducted the 1111 Victorious Eugenia Movement on Saturday. 
  • In Tamu, a rally of local people marched in commemoration of the 1111 Movement. 
  • Monywa Public’s Strike Committee led an anti-junta march as part of the nationwide movement on Saturday. 
  • In Salingyi Township, the 1111 Movement was conducted on Saturday morning. 
  • In Khin-U Township, the junta armed forces left two camps where they had stationed for more than two years. Reportedly, PDFs cleared the area and now control it. 
  • In Myaung Township, Youths For Community-YFC Myaung, Mandalay Strike Groups and local people welcomed the revolution with victorious Eugenia. 
  • In Ye-U, a combined force of PDFs spread leaflets via drone, calling on the junta soldiers taking position in tall buildings to give up arms. 
  • In North Okkalapa Township of Yangon Region, there was a grenade attack at the house of a junta police officer in Kyauk Yedwin Ward. 
  • In the 1111 Movement on 11 November, the public offered Eugenia to the Buddha and wore it in their hair to show support for Operation 1027. 
  • In Yesagyo of Magwe Region, local PDFs attacked a former soldier’s office in town at about 9:00 am on Friday. 
  • In Loikaw Township of Karenni State, the junta army fired mortars, killing a little girl aged 10 and a woman aged 45. 
  • Inle public activists called for just a brief celebration for the 8th Inthar National Day on 13 November. 
  • Starting from Friday evening, some fuel oil shops in Yangon have run out of the fuel oil. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • Karenni Nationalities Defence Force called on the public not to travel on Loikaw-Demoso Road, Loikaw-Mobye Road and Loikaw-Sisai Road due to the current military situation in the area. 
  • The Three Brotherhood of the Northern Alliance officially stated that the revolution forces had attacked and gained control of 7 junta outposts in Loikaw, Demoso, Nant Mekone and Namsamkham in Karenni State on Saturday morning. 
  • On Saturday, a combined force of Karenni including the KNDF has been fighting Loikaw since the early morning. 
  • In Mindat Township of Chin State, 14 public’s houses were damaged as the junta army conducted aerial attacks and fired heavy weapons. 

The Military Council 

  • In Myitkyina of Kachin State, pro-military people had a rally at Kachin National Park in Sitarpu Ward. 
  • In Myaung Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army dropped bombs via fighter jet on Minhla Village at 3:25 pm Friday. 
  • The martial court sentenced Lieutenant-General Soe Htut, former Minister of Home Affairs, to five years in prison. 
  • The team of healthcare professionals including the junta Minister of Health went to a mental hospital in Yangon and made an inspection. 
  • Major General Zaw Min Tun, the junta propaganda leader, claimed that the MNDAA had been in some parts of Kun Long Township for a week and the junta soldiers had been fighting them. He added that the junta armed forces regained control of Theinni where the TNLA had ear;ier had control. 

Summary on 12 November 

  • The junta information officer told lies openly that they had regained Theinni and their forces had been fighting bravely in Kung Lone. 
  • In Karenni State, the KNDF and the allied forces got started with their attacks along with Operation 1027. With battlefields in many directions, the military junta might have to let go of more camps one after another.
